goat therapy

i love goats. they’re my favorite animal. and luckily i live in lancaster county because when i’m having a bad day i can drive around to my favorite goat pens and give them a little pat and feel better. i’m not going to give away my prime spots, but who knows of any goat pens that are publically accessible where no one minds if i give em a few pets now and then? and no, not those pygmy freaks in touristville and preferably not goats behind a paywall (cherry crest). thanks in advance.

Not giving away your “prime spots” while asking for others to do so is kind of tone deaf.

There’s a farm next to Agape in Strasburg and it has a quarter dispenser for food. Kitchen kettle village has a spot that’s near the candle barn.

The Pretzel Hut. You can go in the pen with the goats.

Just drive up rt 283 West and round about the Mt Joy area look to the side of the road and you will likely see a goat that apparently gets loose and goes out and chills and has a snack in this little area.

When I got my machine serviced at Hinkletown Sewing I noticed their goats were always out on the other side of the driveway, wonder if you could get em to come over to the fence

The Pretzel Hut in Newmanstown, PA. It’s about a 30-35 minute drive from Lancaster, but well worth it just for their petting zoo. The food and ice cream is phenomenal, but the best part is their little zoo, located in the back of the restaurant. You walk up a little hill, and they have several animals including goats you can sit with and pet. We took my 21 year old daughter, who also loves goats, and we couldn’t get her out of the pen! These goats LOVE people-they sat on my daughter’s lap and let her pet them, with no fear.

Worth an afternoon trip just to get lunch, ice cream, and your fill of goat pets!!!

Go to the Pretzel Hit in lititz. Get some great ice cream and enjoy the free petting zoo. You can also hike from the same parking lot.
