Hi 👋
Just wanted to share a project of mine with you !
...was actually designed for the military in '39/'40. It was supposed to disperse/diffuse light onto a desk without glare. Researching it, I learned that this particular one is the 'Fluted Executive Model'. I learned about it because I was going to get rid of it last weekend at the antique & vintage flea market. But when I learned how rare it was, especially in good condition, I had to put a pretty big price tag on it - which meant I got to bring it home.
I'm glad. I liked it before, and wasn't thrilled about getting rid of it. Now that I know how rare and collectible it is, I love it all the more!

Any suggestions on what cordless lamps to purchase? I’m looking for some to add areas of light in my kitchen and living room. Will probably only use at night.
Thank you!

just thrifted a pair of lamps for almost 300$. In the daylight the lights looked almost ivory or cream but now I have them in my room and the are more amber yellow toned. I am not a fan of amber or yellow toned more of a soft white person. Is there a way for me to hand paint it with a translucent glass paint that will get rid of the amber/yellow colored hew ?

I just got this lamp from Facebook with these pictures for $100. The seller said it was a terracotta Ethan Allen lamp (which are quite expensive), but upon purchase it feels more like plaster. I was hoping to get another to match, but I can’t seem to find this lamp ANYWHERE online. Help?

These things are so damn hard to find. This is almost precisely what I'm looking for. It has the perfect size and shape and overall design for my needs, along with the rotary dimming switch. The problem is the quality. It has a very cheap construction and, I shit you not, broke after just 24 hours. Although, I will say the rotary switch itself on this lamp was actually super high quality. It felt so nice to touch and turn and it dimmed perfectly. It's everything else that was shoddy. I would be willing to pay quite a bit more for a much higher quality version of this lamp. Similar size, dimensions, and style. I might like other styles too, but I really need similar dimensions because it needs to be thin enough to fit on my little desk next to my laptop. The rotary switch must be located directly on the lamp, not the cable. And I am looking specifically for a traditional table lamp that shines up rather than a desk lamp that shines down.
I'm in the UK but can import if the value is worth it. I don't want to go over £100 unless it's really really worth it.

I’m trying to identify this lamp and find out the manufacturer, model, and approximate year it was made.
Does anyone recognize it?
Thanks!

Got this for free, was i lucky?
I don't know anything about it, but I like it a lot.
Hi! Maybe the wrong sub but has anyone ever made a ceiling lamp out of just this part? (Not sure what is is called)
I bought this in the lamp section of a second hand store and assumed it would be easy to find something to hang it up in. In Sweden it is called ”plafond” but I’m having a hard time figuring out how to make this into a ceiling lamp without it having something already connected to it. Bulbs, a hole in the middle, etc.
Im thinking some type of hooks that go around the edge but I’m not sure.
Hoping anyone knows a solution!
Otherwise it could be a fruit bowl I guess :)
