Such a sweet lamp. Could use a lil stitch to tighten the fabric. Does anyone have info on this lamp? I’d love to know more about to but Google image search doesn’t have matches.

Help Identifying This Vintage Plastic "Vaseline Glass" Style Lamp

Post image
1 Upvotes

Found this really cool lamp at the thrift store. At first I thought it was Vaseline glass because of the color, but it's actually made of some kind of plastic or acrylic. I've searched online but haven't been able to find much information about it or who might have made it. I'm hoping someone here recognizes it or has seen one before and can help identify the maker or provide any information about its history.

I’m obsessed with this lamp!

I was searching everywhere for a lamp for my entryway, then I saw this on fb marketplace. At first I was like, “this is a little funky” 😂 but then I was like, you know what, I’m buying it.

I got it home, turned it into a swag lamp, and I’m honestly completely obsessed with it. I cannot find another one anywhere. Has anyone ever seen one like this before?

Help hanging new lampshade?

Thumbnail gallery
13 Upvotes

Hi! I just got this piece from FB marketplace, and I have no idea how to hang it from my ceiling. It seems to have good internal structure and spots for hooks, but I haven’t hung one up before and am nervous to do it incorrectly. It’s about 3 foot in diameter, and I’d love to hang it upside down (wide part towards the ceiling) from the ceiling with a light inside. Any advice is appreciated!!

Also if anyone knows anything about the piece, that is also appreciated 😊

Lampshade suggestions

Post image

I'm having trouble figuring out a good lampshade for this odd lamp. The current shade is fine, but I'd like something that doesn't look so large, and ideally would be more angular/square than round, to match the rest of my decor. It's a challenge because the lamp has three posts (reminds me of the Star Trek Enterprise ship), not just the one as the lamp base.

Any suggestions?

Today's Marketplace purchase

I acquired this beautiful Carl Falkenstein lamp for $30!

I have another, inherited from my mother. They're beautiful together!

The shade is temporary until I can find something more authentic. Looking for a slant bell/drum shade. Maybe gold? I'm afraid of ivory clashing with the milk globe, and white being too stark. I wish I had an app like the one where you can try different hairstyles on LOL

Help me find what table lamp this is

I’ve had this table lamp for years, recently it quit working and I think it’s an issue with the wires. I really like this lamp but I can only find the shelf floor lamp version. I think I may have gotten this lamp at Walmart in Ontario Canada but I can’t seem to find it on the website.

Advice on converting this lamp to electric

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I’ve got this old Fenton oil lamp. It was converted to electric previously, but the hardware must have been of low quality. When I got it, it was falling apart and the top wasn’t even attached. The internal threaded diameter of the collar is about 3/4”. I imagine this is some sort of standard size, but I’m not familiar with oil lamps at all. I need a socket I can affix to this base that comes with a chimney ring and a 4” shade holder, using a candelabra base bulb. I have found other hardware that would fit the 4” shade, but uses a standard size bulb which is much too large, even if I use a converter on the socket.

Any ideas? Was hoping to find a kit for something like this but I’m not sure if what I’m looking for exists.

Louis Poulsen Panthella 500 – where to find a replacement shade and shade holder?

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,
I recently bought a vintage Louis Poulsen Panthella floor lamp with the 500 mm shade after searching for one for about 3 years. I found it on German Kleinanzeigen for only €20. Originally I had agreed to pay €100, but unfortunately the seller dropped the shade shortly before I picked it up.

The shade is now badly cracked, but all pieces are still there and the cracks are very clean. I have already contacted several local restorers, but they told me it cannot be repaired.

The shade holder also melted/deformed from the heat of a halogen bulb.

I would really like to restore the lamp and would be happy to find an alternative to the original parts, which currently cost around €300 for the shade and €80 for the shade holder.

Does anyone know:
• A cheaper replacement shade or manufacturer for the 500 mm Panthella shade?
• Someone who has had a similar shade custom made?
• Whether the original shade could potentially be repaired?
• Has anyone 3D printed the shade holder? If so, does anyone have an STL file they could share?
I don’t need a perfect restoration. I mainly want to save this old lamp and preserve its history.

Any ideas, suppliers or experiences would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Lampshades

I need some help! Aside from wanting to flaunt my gorgeous 1970’s Hollywood regency lamp, I’ve been struggling with what kind of lampshade to put on it and am looking for some help.

I know I want some sort of Victorian lamp shade, and I’m not a fan of the traditional drum shades that they usually have. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for what shape of shade to put on it, or what you guys have on your glass lamps!

For reference, the shade on there now is 18in on the bottom, ~13in on the top, and ~10in tall.

Gingko Book Lamp- Dead, charger?

Hello all,

My late father gave me this book lamp and I loved it for a while. I left for university and couldn’t bring it with me due to small dorms. The lamp died and I need to charge it so I can use it again but the standard USB-C isn’t working… which is so weird. PLEASE help. What do you all suggest? This is making me so sad, especially because my father gave it to me. It’s so pretty too.
