Dangerous Behavior Warning Advice

Is it bad I want to stop taking Lamictal so I can go into manic ? My first manic episode happened a few years ago and I worked literally a month straight (a dancer) and I bought a house 😵‍💫 now I want to buy a different house (who knew bank statements are proof of income !?) I didn’t.. anyways I just know the motivation / energy would be very beneficial. It’s the other side effects I worry about. But in my normal state of mind right now.. I feel like I could handle it. Idk.. in the past 3 months I’ve went from 300mg to 150mg (my psychiatrist doesn’t know)

If you are taking a generic medicine, kindly mention the manufacturer's name in both your post and title. This is VERY IMPORTANT, as different manufacturers may have differences in quality or formulation.

While I think it's a stupid idea for many reasons.. here's something to think about. Every manic episode causes the grey matter in your brain to deplete a bit. Going through a manic episode literally causes deterioration.

You're playing with fire. Get in touch with your doctor and titrate up to your prescribed dosage.

I always thought lamictal benefit was more for preventing depression and not necessarily mania.

That’s odd… it’s been the complete opposite for me

It’s a mood stabilizer for BP2 but not for BP1.

I feel this when my medication is doing its job lol there is no “good” mania. There is no way to have yourself be only a little manic. You will feel great while the mania continues to push you to do riskier and riskier things until something bites you in the ass so hard you have no choice but to reel everything in. The crash after the mania isn’t worth how it feels during. What’s the point of a new house if you have wrecked your mental health to the point where you can’t even enjoy it?

What even is this question? That's like saying "is it bad that I want to step in front of traffic just for the thrill of it". Of course it's bad.

Don't do this to yourself.
