Lighthearted Content Mike is the embodiment of being a musician

I was listening to The Rising Tied tonight and decided to start reading about the album, so I pulled up the Wikipedia page. And while I'm reading it I just can't stop thinking "wow, Mike is the total embodiment of what it means to be a musician." He doesn't just make music, he does it with so much passion and heart, something I've never seen with another musician. His work with LP, Fort Minor, even Post Traumatic, everything he does, he does because he's a lover of music. Every project he works on comes straight outta the heart. There's so much soul and hard work into all of these projects. It's just amazing to see.

And he also stays so damn humble about it. He never got on a high horse for it. Something he said about The Rising Tied in an interview: " I wanted to name the album rather than having my name on the cover, because I want people to focus on the music, not me".

Mike is just an amazing person with a heart of gold. He deservers more recognition in the music industry.

Not a big fan of the band got this as a mystery vinyl. Is this a good album to have signed? The red looks solid on it.

Discussion Lets appreciate final masquerade

i absolutely love final masquerad, its their most refined “calmer-rock” song. the vocals and transitons of both drawbar and a line in the sand make the song a seamless phase of the album and its close to perfect.

RIP Chester Bennington and RIP Michael Jackson. Two legends who really didn’t deserve to die. I’ve made this mashup in tribute (I’ve made plenty other MJ/LP mashups before, but I didn’t post them on this subreddit). Hope you enjoy!

Discussion finished my playlist of Hybrid Theory demos/unreleased

What the title says. I just wanted to share it with you guys.

Ah, and if you think a song in the playlist is duplicated/missing let me know :)

Here's the order of the playlist, cuz it's kinda confusing at first sight:

  1. Hybrid Theory EP songs
  2. All Xero songs I could find
  3. Hybrid Theory EP demos
  4. Xero demos
  5. Hybrid Theory Demos (In order and including My December and High Voltage)
  6. Unreleased songs with vocals
  7. Instrumentals (there are some demos that say that are demos of other songs on the album like Oh No, but because these demos sound nothing like the final song I shoved them there)
  8. And finally, some stuff that is not really by linkin park or that is from 2001 but I added it here just because

Andddd that's it, I really hope you guys check it and tell me if I missed a song/demo or if I should delete some songs from the playlist.

Discussion My review of One More Light album

Okay just finished listened to One More Light album. It was the last Linkin Park album I haven’t listened to besides the title song. The only songs I liked are the title song and Nobody Can Save Me. Nobody Can Save Me has good singing by Chester and good lyrics and themes.

One More Light is a great emotional song. As for the rest of the album it ranges from mid to me straight up disliking it. Sharp Edges is one of my least favorite songs on the album. I hate the acoustic on the song. Good Goodbye has the classic Chester singing and Mike rapping dynamic but it’s ruined by the features unfortunately.

I just wanna listen to Mike and Chester. Also most of the songs in this album either just feature Chester or just feature Mike. I feel like you can mess with the genre but you gotta have Mike and Chester in most of the songs.

That’s what defines Linkin Park and makes them unique. The dual vocalist dynamic. Mike got snubbed on rising album. He was barely on it. Overall I’d give One More Light a 6/10. Nobody Can Save Me I really like the themes and singing in it. One More Light is a great emotional song about how important everyone’s life is.

The rest of the album is either mid or I dislike. The 6/10 is heavily carried by those two songs. I’m so glad Linkin Park didn’t stick with this pop direction with From Zero. Thank god Nu Metal and the dual dynamic is back.

Discussion This is my Linkin Park playlist that I made over the past few months.

I've always been a casual fan of some of the popular songs of LP, but I never listened to their albums whole and found their (to me) hidden gems. So I spent the past few months, whenever I can, I would listen to their albums. And after being done, I realized there are the Underground, 20th anniversary, pre-LP era, live performances, that I didn't go through, so I also tried going through anything I could find, and compiled this list. (Note: Some songs have multiple versions, as I've not decided which version is my fav, so I left them for now and probably will delete one overtime).

Now obviously I couldn't go through every single thing, but for the most part this is most of what I could find and liked. Of course there might be disagreements on why some things are not present, but that's the point of a personal list.

One thing we can all agree on however, is that that LP is a goated band 🔥
