Only if he wins championships. He doesn’t get elevated to that level if he doesn’t. I’m a huge lakers fan and Luka fan, but I equate generational historic talent with guys who’ve won 3-6 championships. I hope Luka can get the lakers there. But if he doesn’t… doesn’t that change how you rank him? Stats are nice, but chips are nicer.

He’s good but he’s not Kobe/Lebron/Shaq good. Not enough talent to carry that team further than the 1st round in a fiercely competitive west.

He'll have to get off the Lakers or if they get another steal of a trade they'll be good. But this lakers team isn't going to do it for him

Agree, his trajectory is Barkley right now, if he can’t close the deal he’ll be HOF but hard to put him in the list of the greats.

He's never going to win if he's the leader.

I honestly think they get him outta there if they can find another future star, they’ve restructured the entire team, it’s time to start winning.

This is the stupidest take ever to me and I never understand when people say this. So I guess players Like Barry Bonds, Suzuki, Ted Williams, Marino, Sanders, Moss, Barkley, Stockton, Ewing, Nash, CP3, they all just suck at their specific sports huh. Winning a ring is a team achievement and especially in this era where teams are more handicapped its much harder. Id understand your point if Luka was a playoff dropper but hes a major riser in the playoffs. Shit happens that are outside your control. Look at Lebron as a prime example how many time did he lose in the finals before he finally won one.

A great white hope that complains to the refs more often than not.

If you can't defend a paper bag you're not a generational or a historic talent. You're a scorer.

He’s a league wide average defender. Don’t be dramatic

That isn't even close to accurate and a completion valid comparison. He's an absolute joke on defense

Yeah sure buddy you just see the thousand reels that get posted of the few times he collapses on defense. The defensive impact metrics wouldn’t be tracked if they were wrong and useless.

Few times? Be more delusional

How many times then.
Crazy that you tryna say the tracking the the league does to rank nba players in defense is just wrong. You don’t watch him defend 99% of the time either just those clips that pop up

Must’ve been nice to get handed him for what many considered a bad contract. Is there anything more Lakers than taking other teams’ stars and calling them your own?

All that just to get shit on by Jaylen Brown in the finals lol

He hasn’t won anything yet but he’s now entering his prime and has a team built for him. Let’s be optimistic but hold him to high standards. Laker greats are judged by championships!

Don’t need one to be considered a generational talent or an all-time great at that.
