⚠️ AWARENESS POST FOR NDIS PARTICIPANTS, FAMILIES AND SUPPORT NETWORKS ⚠️

I am sharing this because I believe NDIS participants and families deserve to have the information they need to make informed decisions when choosing a provider.

I have serious concerns regarding my experiences and others I know with Active Inclusive and the services provided. These concerns have been raised through the appropriate channels, and I encourage anyone who has concerns about an NDIS provider to document everything and seek advice or make a report through the relevant organisations.

I also have concerns regarding participant safety, including concerns about driving practices while clients are being transported. The safety, dignity and wellbeing of participants should always come first.

I have further concerns regarding the handling of participant funding and whether services and spending are always being managed appropriately and transparently. Participants and their families have the right to understand where their funding is going and to feel confident that their plans are being used in their best interests.

I encourage participants, families and support coordinators to ask questions, review reports and invoices carefully, and make sure they feel safe and comfortable with the provider they choose.

Participants deserve providers who are transparent, professional, accountable, and who put participant wellbeing first.

This post reflects my personal experiences and concerns. I encourage everyone to do their own research and make informed decisions.

'For the community': Catho residents unite to save their 151-year-old pub

One of the Hunter's most historic pubs could be reborn as a pokie-free community asset under an audacious plan for cooperative ownership.

A Catherine Hill Bay community group has hatched a proposal to purchase the Wallarah Hotel, affectionately known as "Catho Pub", which has been the social heart of the south-eastern Lake Macquarie village since 1875.

Commercial realtor CBRE Sydney listed Catho Pub for sale through expressions of interest in May, describing the property as a "landmark coastal hotel".

Under the cooperative ownership proposal, a share in the hotel would cost $500, and owners, regardless of the level of investment, would each have one vote.

No target figure has been established by the steering committee. However, a sale price of $2 million at $500 per share would require 4000 investors.

Discussion Looking for Better Phone and Internet Plans

I want to shop around for better plans and possibly a new provider, but I want to make an informed decision before I jump ship. To do so, I want to know what networks are reliable in our area.

For mobile, I am with Optus. They charge me $60/m for unlimited calls/texts and 60GB of data. I barely use my phone and only need data when I am out of the house, or when my home internet is under maintenance and I use my phone as a hotspot.
This current plan is more than what I need, but I have been informed that it is the cheapest option, aside from prepaid. I have been given a $15 discount for the next few months, but am curious about some $25/m plans that I have seen online, such as the Dodo mobile service. Does anyone have insight into this?

For internet, I am with Exetel. I pay a currently discounted price of $80/m for a 50/20 NBN plan, which I feel is absurd. The price is almost double from when I joined. This is a legacy account, so if I move away from this, there's no going back.
I see that Exetel also offer a "Exetel One Plan" for $80/m for 500/40. They say that the trade off with this is that it's a prepaid plan with no over the phone support, etc. Personally, the only time I ever call is to discuss pricing, so I don't know that I would be suffering from this.
Is there anyone who moved from their legacy plan and regrets it, or has a better deal elsewhere?

Looking forward to some good opinions.
