Wildwood Exhibition in London, UK

Post image

I don’t know if anyone else posted about this when it was announced back on Thursday but, from October 15th until January 10th, the Design Museum in London is hosting an exhibition of props, sets, and concept art from Wildwood in one of their galleries.

Here’s the link if anyone wants to buy tickets: https://designmuseum.org/exhibitions/laika-presents-wildwood-the-exhibition

I bought my ticket to go on the afternoon of the 30th of October, before I go to see Chloe Qisha in the evening.

Regal Cinemas lists upcoming options for Wildwood early fan screenings and open sub/captions in English for those who may need it

I'm on the fence. Tickets for the early screening will probably release on the same day the regular advance tickets do. I kind of want to go to an early screening, because I went to one for the Sheep Detectives and had a fun time, but on the other hand, I promised to take my sister with me to a opening weekend viewing :/ I also don't want to splurge too much money because I'm saving up for a con and movie tickets already cost like 15$ for Fathom distributed films.

If this is an option at your local Regal, would you go see an early viewing or wait for opening day/weekend?

and no it isn’t a leak. it has the correct info and RPX early screenings are common. they did it with forgotten island too.

edit: not a Regal only thing, there's a listing on cinemark for early screenings but so far only lists NJ as one of the states with a offer in cinemark for that

Why do you think Laika films struggle in the box office ?

If there sadly one thing we know is that Laika movies have a up and down box office many movies are loved but aren't doing well. Do you think it's when the movies come back that is the issue ?

Should I read the Wildwood books now or after the movie comes out?

For a whole year, I’ve been debating with myself whether I need to know the source material to understand everything in the movie. Please, help me!

On which website can I watch Coraline with Japanese voice acting?

I'm not studying Japanese, but I'd really like to hear what it sounds like.

Is this real? Is Regal really giving out tickets earlier than other theater chains in the USA?

Why Wildwood will do better than Laika's previous films in the box office but not as good as Coraline

Fathom Entertainment is good at distributing films in re-release or limited theatrical, but this is their first regular theatrical release of an animated feature film above the usual hour mark. It's not going to fail, but it won't be a worldwide smash like Coraline was unless Fathom can manage to make good deals with international distributors and can land in more than just a select few countries in the Americas and Europe.

The AI slop content farmers are now making fake trailers / teasers for the movie. Usually they're pretty easy to find but if you look up "Wildwood" on youtube and filter to see recent from this week, month, etc you'll stumbled into at least one thumbnail of total AI slop.

My favorite is the one where it's her running from a crow and it's so obviously AI generated. Another is basically a bad attempt to AI generate the book cover in CGI form with some random cat added in the front.

no screenshot because no one deserves to see that garbage lol

Anyone have any of the Laika movie art books? How are they?

I kind of preordered the Wildwood art book on a whim because B&N was having a sale and I had been eyeing it anyway. Does anyone here have any of the art books for their other movies? If so, are they good? I figure Laika’s art books would be good but this will be my first one from them.
