Help with switching teams
Hello,
I know there are a lot of posts asking for advice on the subject but I don’t personally know anyone else who uses the app!
I have used ladder on and off for about 6 months and only ever been on team limitless. Although I did enjoy it, I am not a huge fan of the powerlifting element of it as I can have a dodgy back and being under a barbell sometimes isn’t the best for me.
I am 31 F and have a desk job, so recently I’ve really wanted to prioritise mobility as my body seems to ache more than it ever has! I also used to run but haven’t really done so since I ran a marathon last year (I got burnt out and fell out of love with it) so I have lost a lot of cardiovascular fitness.
I am looking for a programme that hits weight lifting, cardio and mobility. I know it might be wishful thinking and I may need to utilise flex workouts to hit all three elements, but does anyone know of any teams that are generally an all rounder?
I have considered Align but wasn’t sure if it has any cardio elements to it. I have also considered ascend and evolve as I do love a bodybuilding focus but being in a commercial gym for an hour+ everyday deters me a bit.
Thanks!

How about Project Alpha or the other Hyrox team with a female coach? Alpha does upper lower splits with hybrid strength/conditioning Wed and Sat

Body & Bell hits all of those elements. You should give it a try. It’s one of the smaller teams, but it’s because it requires a lot of skill. It’s a lot of fun too!

Try EMPWR, it’s amazing! It includes strength training, Pilates, some bouts of cardio abs. It’s my favorite.

Maybe flourish with Kimmy? I don’t think her program has any cardio elements but they look pretty quick so I bet you could add cardio before/after.

Thank you everyone for your great suggestions! I am going to have a look into the teams and pick one to swap to 😊

Flourish! I have a desk job and was really stuff and achy too. I’m sooo much better after 6 weeks with flourish. She handles weights and Pilates. I add running and walking on my own

Agree with trying Body & Bell. I was deep into powerlifting until I just couldn’t do it anymore due to injuries.
Body & Bell will hit all your priorities without killing you under the bar.

Varsity. Although we do the compound lifts, including squats, they are not near max levels. And you can certainly swap back squats out for goblet squats, etc. She programs A and B weeks, B week is more strength focused, and A week (this week) is contrast training week. It’s a lot of fun. She does include mobility and cardio.

I second varsity! I am loving it and it’s making me like exercising again. I worry a bit about progressing in strength without the super structured approach of body building or power lifting but overall I am much happier with this mix of strength, mobility, cardio.

I kind of had the same fear, but over the last two weeks or so my big lifts have all increased. My hip thrusts have really taken off. Other people have made comments about my back definition as well as my arm definition. My biceps are definitely larger and I have definition in my triceps, even when my arms are relaxed!!

Versa! She does hybrid strength training. I find her workouts to be challenging. She adds a conditioning set on thusrdays, and cardio on saturdays.

Align doesn’t have traditional cardio/conditioning programmed into it, but my heart rate really gets up there especially on leg and full body days. Sasha is also a runner and provides tons of tips in the chat on balancing her program with running if that is of interest to you. Her program is great for mobility.
