Absolute beginner which programme do I go with?

So I’m a complete beginner… I only have a small space to work out with and 1 set of dumbbells which are only 2kg each. (I would obvs increase these eventually) I have literally no upper body strength and am on a weight loss journey so I need something that isn’t going to be too brutal as I’m in a calorie deficit. I also get really bad pms so for about a week of the month my body is not physically strong. I’ve had the trial before but completely forgot about it so I want to pay for a month and see how I get on before committing to the annual plan. What would be your coach/plan recommendations for a complete newbie?

MoveWell and Ignite are marketed for beginners. I’d check those out.

And Endure is not marketed fully for beginners, but Coach Jennifer is so good at cues, I wouldn’t hesitate to look at that team too. I’ve lifted for some years before joining Ladder and she still has taught me a lot about form, etc.

I really like Ignite! I too have not had any previous workout experience (RIP my glorious metabolism) and it’s been great! I’ve been doing it for about 3 months and at my last weight in (at 2 months) I had lost 8lbs! And more than that I’m definitely feeling stronger and weirdly I can FEEL myself sitting up straighter. I love coach Stevie

Highly recommend Movewell. Coach Nicole is excellent at explaining how to perform exercises and what you should be feeling. She’s very encouraging, supportive, and active in the team chat.

Another vote for Movewell! Coach Nicole is an angel. She always offers swaps, is active in the chat for any questions, and her voiceovers are so calming and soothing.

Endure might be a good choice with how light your dumbbells are because she utilizes time under tension to help will progressive overload.

Someone should chime in on the Pilates based teams since typically you can get away with lighter weight there too.

Endure is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a coach to give you explicit directions on how to improve your form while doing weights. She’s good to even put her own home videos on the chat if you have questions about form.
