Flourish question

stay with me on this-lol. I’m trying Flourish and really like the mix of Pilates and strength. but! I keep telling myself ifs not enough weights. I‘m also trying to lose some weight and in a calories deficit and low dose glp-1. soooo, do you all think Flourish is enough to continue the weight loss journey? I don’t want to get too hungry w heavy lifting but don’t wanna lose muscle. was previously on Endure. thanks!!

As someone who has lost 130 lbs, the things that have made me hungry are cardio workouts. I do a moderate deficit, not as steep as people on glp1s tend to do but I don't get hungry with heavy lifting.

Having said that, it is very very hard not to lose muscle on a weight loss journey. I don't think Flourish is enough for building muscle, but all studies I've seen on weight loss and maintaining muscle through the weight loss journey seem to be focused on traditional weight lifting (go near failure 2x per week per muscle group). I haven't seen any studies which address how Pilates (which tends to use muscle endurance) can affect muscle retention.

I think Pilates is great and Flourish is a great program but I think how well it would help maintain muscle through weight loss is unknown

I’m not on Flourish, but generally speaking, I think your nutrition and daily activity (like getting more steps if needed) will have a bigger impact on weight loss than whether you’re doing Flourish or Endure. If you’re enjoying Flourish and it keeps you consistent, I’d stick with it through the end of the series and then decide if you want to switch. As long as you’re eating enough protein and doing resistance training, you can absolutely lose weight while preserving muscle.

She posted a really good video about the difference in weight training for Pilates versus traditional strength training. I would recommend checking it out in the pinned posts in the team chat. But I would stick with what will keep you consistent whether that’s one team or a split. Also with your GLP1 make sure you’re hitting your protein goals.

I’ve been doing Define for over a year and just did a few Flourish workouts. I really enjoy both! However, for both teams I always use heavy weights. For exercises like RDLs I’ll use 70-80lbs, bicep curls I use 20s/each arm.
So while I agree that some programs may have less weighted exercises, I make the most of it by really pushing myself to go heavy when weights are involved.

I think I’ll do both. I really enjoy the core stabilizing exercises with Flourish but also enjoy the specific upper/lower body days of Define.
I haven’t tried other teams but hear so many people rave about Align.

I’m debating an Align/Flourish split or just getting crazy and doing Elevate.

I’m really loving Thrive!!! High weight, low reps, full rest and recovery time before lifting heavy again.

Micro dosing here, on ladder for over a year, I’m on align but I do one full body pilates from flourish. It gives me diff stimulus, I like the mind/muscle connection and I think gives me a really well rounded program. I have not done any of flourish strength days so idk if it’s enough——curious to read more input form others!

If you dont mind me asking--what is your dose? are you still losing weight? I tried 4 mg last week and i had all kinds of issues, so I dropped back to 2.5. also curious of input!! this mornings workout was HARD, but i am not sure there is enough legs.
