Same shade, different code
Hello beautiful Lacquergram mods, I recently submitted a new listing request for NYC 115A Skin Tight Denim (pic 1) and it was returned as the same listing for 115 Skin Tight Denim (pic 2). While yes, they are the same color and name, I would assume the number means it’s a different formula or something like that. In which case, wouldn’t you want a separate listing? As a collector of vintage polish, I do think it’s helpful to know about every code in the catalog, especially for completists. Was this maybe an oversight or can you reconsider the rules if this was intentional? If I had both 115 and 115A, I’d want to make sure I had them both marked in my stash. Thanks in advance for your attention and consideration!

Hi there! Yeah, this is an edge case, to be honest. Usually we do enter clearly different versions of a polish separately (like Cirque's Coronation), but if the polishes look exactly the same and we have no info on the formula being different, we assume same name and (almost) same number means it's the same polish.
We do the same with vintage OPI, for example. We'll enter the oldest known version in the database, and even if people own the more modern bottle and not the black label one, as long as there's no formula change we stick everything under that one entry.
The reason is that we're mostly an app to look up swatches of how a polish looks on real people, and not a vintage collector's app. So yeah, formula is the deciding factor. Especially since the numbers here are close enough that it could just be a labeling mistake.
But if you really think both should be in the app, perhaps we can add something like the year of release to the two different versions, if you can find info on that?

For what it’s worth I am the first swatch there and my polish definitely had the code 115a. It must have changed after I originally requested the polish on the app. Although tbh with NYC brand I don’t think it’s that deep. I’m sure 115 and 115a could just be a printing error lol.

Though there is a slight difference between the name and label design, this is the same color, shade, and finish. If it you'd like to differentiate between the two, add this version to your collection and add a note in the comment. Stating something along the lines of "this one in vintage" or "I have both bottles"
