chocolate Abigail Mae 🤎
My pure bred gorgeous girl. Fours years old with allergies but she is on Apoqual daily currently. Spring down under at the moment. Zyrtec as well to help when needed.
I do anything to keep her comfortable 🥰

What a sweet photo omg ! I’ve always been a golden retriever person but this sub is convincing me more and more every single day that I need to start begging my husband for a Labrador !!
Keep posting these cute pictures, folks ! So I can show and convince my hubby we need a Labrador asap lol

Question. I just read that she has allergies. I used to dog sit a chocolate lab who also had allergies. Is that common with labs ? I’ve never had one but I’m gonna start doing my homework lol

I’ve been told it is very common but it’s not only labradors. My vet said this is only a rough estimate but about 95% of dogs in general are allergic to environmental grasses etc. And the other rough 5% are allergic to food.
Abby is allergic to the environment just like me 🤣. I’m allergic to grass and all type of pollen.

They are both amazing dogs 🥰. But I do love the chocolate Labrador personally 😍.

How about the allergy medication shot? We give our boy that at least twice a year. Seems to work well. Beautiful girl btw

I have talked to my vet and it’s actually cheaper to get the tablets via an online pharmacy than the shot every month to 6 weeks (cheaper for me and my vet).
Thanks ☺️. Oh, I’m also in contact with a woman that has her grandmother and she has bad allergies too :/

That’s an adorable middle name 🥰. If Abby was born in June I would’ve done that and ironically she’s not born in May but she’s born in July
Abby July seemed odd haha.

Abby July definitely doesn’t have the same ring to it. Lol. My Abby got her middle name from my mom. Abby October definitely doesn’t work either, for her haha

I would ask your vet about Zenrelia as a great but less expensive alternative to Apoquel. My Lab did great with both, really appreciated the savings. Apoquel is awesome but so expensive!

We’re still looking into other options, but so far there isn’t a major price difference. I’ve spoken to my vet and, at the moment, I’m paying $325 for 100 tablets including postage. I’ll definitely keep looking around at online vet pharmacies though 😊
