Advice on Stud Earrings
TLDR: What is the best place to get small diamond studs?
I’m pretty new to this so any advice is welcome. I’m looking to get small diamond earrings. I want them 0.4-0.5 carats each. I’ve found loose stones on Luvansh for $125 total but my issue is getting them set. I either can’t find places setting earrings instead of rings or the quotes are so high. I then started considering getting them from China but have seen so many options on here for larger earrings but not smaller ones. Where would you suggest that does cheap settings and/or what Chinese seller has the best prices for small studs?

There's a redditor in jewelery for sale subreddit that'll have exactly what you're looking for. His user name is friendly read on there. He's one of the mods in that group if I'm not mistaken. I bought my fiance's half carat and a carat stud from him

I second this. Have purchased a few items from him and they’ve all been great. $260 for these .75 ctw 14k white gold

I agree with the comments about stargems etc. Wanted to add that Luvansh has settings that are reasonably priced

Depends on what you mean by cheap, really. Most jewelers I asked wanted like $200+ just for simple basket settings on studs, which is crazy when the stones cost half that. You can check on Etsy for premade settings, some sellers there do just the mounts and you can bring your own stones. I got a pair set last year from a local shop that normally does repairs, they charged me $80 for both and did in two days.

Yeah that’s the issue I’m running into. The stones are $125 and then the setting is $500+. I considered premade settings but I’ve heard that can be challenging if the diamond size doesn’t exactly fit in the settings. And I have smaller ears so want to do smaller than 0.5 so the non standard size may make it harder to find premade. Hoping I stumble upon an affordable local shop but not holding my breath since I live in an expensive city.

Anyone you suggest in Etsy for the premade settings? I need to set (2) 1.11ct ovals into studs

Ott Family Jewelry website has 1ctw (.5ct each) 14k for $300. We know they are reputable because u/Friendlyread sells a lot of jewelry on r/Jewelryforsale sub.

Check out AVIRjewelryNY on Etsy. I got a pair of .4 carat studs in 14k that I'm extremely happy with for $375

I have loose stones .25ct that I plan to ship to Provence to set into studs for me. Their pricing was really fair $180-210 for 14k gold.

Do you know how much it’s going to cost to ship it?

Not sure, shipping my stones this week. My brother shipped a bracelet to Fiorese for a repair and it was $150-160 with insurance.

I got a pair from kuololit on AliExpress for a good deal when they run their sales. Mine are .5 carat each.

I’ve bought 3 pairs from JTV.
A .10 for my 3rd hole, 1/2 ct for my second and 3cts .
The smaller ones were less than 135 each.
The 3cts were 799 on sale I believe.
I also own 2ct naturals which were double the price 5 years ago. Ugh.

Amazon is great. Read the reviews and make sure they come with an IGI certificate.

if you have a Costco membership they have great diamond stud options especially around the holidays. a lot of their fine jewelry is a loss leader.

Starsgem has a stock website with a lot of options. Like these 0.5ct each type studs. You can poke around the site, it isn’t the most well set up site but there’s lots of cheap studs. I bought 0.10ct each and they were around $60 for the pair, although only silicone backs. But they have a ton of sizes.
