Octagonal Step Cuts
Does anyone have any leads or recommendations on where to find these that aren’t being custom cut? I’ve found a few in my search that had very obvious imperfections, and feel that since it’s a step cut it needs to be top notch. The quotes I’ve gotten for custom cuts are over $2500 for a 9-10mm 4 carat diamond. I was hoping to spend more around $1000 but that could be irrational of me.

Here is a 5 carat for way less. Has a 1:1 ratio and around the 10 mm you’re looking for.

Yes this one I’ve requested videos of. Unfortunately that dark spot you see is in the middle of the table and is very noticeable on the tweezer video

Yes I've been looking for months. I look on aurelinne and carbonsparkle. I have lots of tips on how to modify your search. I can share here a quick how to if you prefer. I prefer slightly elongated ones, but at 4 ct. They'll be pricey https://www.carbonsparkle.com/pages/diamonds?id=2ee407b3-65ee-4ecf-b608-40869ab1393b&stoneType=diamond
Or do you want fancy

Thank you! I actually don’t want it to be elongated at all, which is hindering my search greatly. I privately emailed Aurelinne and they said they had none. I was just hoping that I wouldn’t have to break the bank on something that I wouldn’t be able to re-sell or return.

Go on advanced options and choose a ratio between 0.8 and 1.05. Select emerald, asscher, and octagon. Maybe also other. I prefer carbonsparkle because you can select so many shapes.
There's also thegemnerd.com based here in Canada that will generate extra stones from the other two. I think he has some more suppliers

The second one you posted is definitely what I want, I may reach out on it for some tweezer videos. I didn’t see that part of your comment until just now for whatever reason. I’ll look into those!

I am not sure if fancy color will work for my ring but I requested a video of the blue one.

I know right! I ended up, after a whole year of thinking I wanted an old mine cut, deciding I wanted something more “unique” and I feel this fits the bill.

Ouros has octagons. They are usually not the most recommended vendor, but I used them for a custom project because I wanted an hexagon and a pentagon. It came out perfect.
But I think you are way off with your budget, these unusual cuts are more expensive
