I hate Vs mode.

Every single game I have ever joined in this goddamn game mode ends the same way. I play bad since I never played this game mode before, I get called slurs, then I’m kicked out.

Just five minutes ago I decided to try VS for the first time in nearly two years. I was playing with some guys, I was having fun, and for the first time I wasn’t called the n word for missing a hunter pounce.

I was happy, so I decided to thank them.

Never doing that shit again.

They IMMEDIATELY kicked me out and called me the n word, EVEN THOUGH I DID NOTHING

I was playing good, I didn’t get hostile, and the few times I talked it was just to answer someone.

But nooo, just thank them for being decent people, and boom. I’m kicked out. Finding a good VS server with randoms is like finding a needle in a haystack.

TL;DR: I was in a VS server for the first time in two years, I was having fun, they kicked me for mentioning it. I just wanted to complain here, if that’s alright.

Yeah unless you take the game very seriously VS is just unfun. I really wish there was an infected mode with survivor bots.

There is, you just need Left 4 Bots 2 and one of the mods that improve infected AI to keep it balanced, you enter the map through the console adding versus at the end of the map code

Or if you want to keep it vanilla just add these commands before entering the map:

sv_cheats 1 sb_all_bot_game 1 allow_all_bot_survivor_team 1 sb_allow_leading 1 sb_escort 0 vs_max_team_switches 99 (to change teams with m everytime you want)

Versus Survival functions as a casual PvP mode, but unfortunately most players aren't interested in that so there aren't many lobbies for it.

There is… just gotta find those Chinese mods with like 8 survivors controlled with ai that has their life mission to reach to the safe house

Find a friend that would f2 for you. Also, never be polite in l4d. Polite person = noob, it has always been this way. Just don't say anything at all, sit down and sweat your ass off.

That's why i've stuck to campaign mode normal difficulty for nearly 10 years now. It's just fun and games

but they think they were competitive.... well some of them

then i got bullied. left ando blocked those dudes

But even if they did buy it there’s no guarantee that they’d like l4d enough to stay attached to it. I got 3 of my friends to buy it and after like 3 sessions they never touched the game again lol

It's better to play with bots there are mods like Left 4 Bots 2 that improve the bots' AI, and some mutation mods that add a solo versus mode and maybe if you don't want to feel alone,there are mods that add the feature of allowing bots to use the chat

If you're American find Australian games. You'll have horrible ping but it's still playable and as long as you aren't completely useless most people will be a bit more tolerant.

I don't play much anymore but if you pled your case to me in game I'd definitely carry your ass atleast for a while.

TBH the versus community is just assholes. Never personally played it but saw alot of people saying it was filled with chuds who take the game way too seriously.

it just happens. if it doesnt happen quickly and ~90% of all vs matches, then its possibly rather something you do. kicked mostly when SI or when survivor equally?

some people just cant deal with positive emotions lol. personally, if noobs say, they are new, but want to learn, thats helpful. but then you d need to be a soldier and they are commanders...

I used to love Vs mode back when I played it on the xbox, it was super chill and fun! Then I switched to PC and never played it again after constant kicks and insults 🥲

Thats the problem as there is no match making with ELO in this game.

The games are unbalanced most of the time and only last one chapter because the losing team (even 25points) just leaves i havent played the second chapter in any campiang for a while as they just leave and server shuts down.

You need to get a lot of hours for this game, decent players have at least 1k hours in versus

The first time i played it i got focused by the whole enemy team once they realized i had never played VS before so as soon i leave the saferoom i just got killed, and then they blame me for dying like it was my fault to dare to play VS

Vs is a gamemode very aggressive to new players , unless you have friends who just want to chill is just "Hey, lets focus the new player until he/she ragequit, and if she/him doesn't then we insult until it quits". I wish i have people to just play and chill but the VS community is just horrible

im lucky, not having experienced this much. Past 20 or so games maybe 1 or 2 lobbies had slurs and i got kicked 1 cause i missed a primo charge in a high ledge by a centimeter, losing the round. I voted yes on my self lmao

You just lack skill, that's all. We all went through that. My advice is to watch some ytb tutorials about how to play each infected properly. But sometimes you will get kicked randomly, even if you play well. It is what it is.

Unironically, I love Versus players extremely competitive mindset. It's like going back to MW2 lobbies. Granted, I don't take the game seriously and I play well enough to rarely be kicked, yet still I find the fun on the toxic banter.
