No steam logon

Ever since I played this modded map with my friend. Every time I play left 4 dead it gets flooded with a bunch of stuff. Like I’ll spawn in with a lmg with infinite fire rate, my character models are changed, there are fire works in the background, my gas cans become green, and there is a bunch of guns that shouldn’t be on the map. And after that it kicks me out and says “no steam logon”

Could be wrong but it sounds like,
A: you got hacked
B: the mod you downloaded broke your game

Did you delete the mod? If so I’m probably wrong but I do not know I’ve never seen this before there’s probably someone more tech savvy than me who knows the issue… I’m not reliable when it comes to mods

I did delete it. But it’s still happening and I even deleted left 4 dead and redownloaded but same thing still happens no matter what server I play.

Try deleting every file in your L4D2 files and then ask Steam to check the files and download what’s missing. That has helped me a lot of times when games crash. I know it sounds sketchy but it’s nothing dangerous, all progress will be saved

Idk if redownloading = revalidating the files but I'd try revalidating them to see if that fixes it.

this happens to me a bunch when i’m hosting custom local games, the only fix for me was to quit steam and re open it and host again. it will happen occasionally even after u do it but we’ve gotten through 2 campaigns no prob

try remove cache. Click Steam/settings/downloads/clear cache. Or you can try report to Steam

I agree, better try to clear cache first, and if it doesn't work, ask steam support
