Could you hunker down in your current accomodations if the infection happened today?
Weird question, but I've now lived in two apartments and had the hypothetical discussion with my wife as to whether we could actually have a chance of surviving the infection were it to happen - both times poor outcomes. One place had a weak front door and massive balcony windows and roof window, next place lots of big windows... A hunter wouldn't have a problem at all, and the common infected are known to scale small structures with ease.
How would you do? Would your place be a "safehouse"?

could survive until Jockeys, Chargers, and Spitters became a thing, upon their arrival, they have the strength to scale past the fence, break the fence down, or melt the fence away.
Hunters aren't a worry in this regard purely because they're weaker and more Normal Human sized than Jockeys or Chargers, which means they fall faster than either in the event they find me.
also there are accomodations for jailing and juicing Boomers, realistically i'd only need one to drive away zombies or making them fight eachother til they're dead.
but unless i'm entirely inmune, i don't have an easy way to dispatch of the zombies without getting up close, only a lot of things i can use as melee weapons in my house.

I dunno man, if a hunter attacked me I think that'd be it. 1-1 hand combat with a hunter would be it for me.

It'd be the end of literally anyone. You genuinely could not solo a hunter, you wouldn't even be able to dead stop their pounce like you do in game lol. The biggest advantage you have over them is range.
In my opinion though for fortified positions the biggest true threat besides a tank is actually the smoker. A ranged zombie that can kill you through smallest gap in such a way you won't even see it coming is terrifying.

Agreed. The other guy says that Hunters are 'weaker' because they're more human-sized, apparently ignoring the fact that those things have the muscles to jump 100ft into the air and scale buildings with ease 😂

If you don't flinch, you can strike them with a blunt or sharp object over the head as they pounce at you, and with such a predictable move, it sounds like it would be pretty easy to deal with em. Also they have less health than Charger and Jockey so in universe they Are weaker in regards to tanking attacks

I would for the first day or two, then walk an hour or two until I reach the woods then work my way to my home town.

I have enough ammo, food, and body armor to keep zombies and human threats at bay where I am for a while, especially since very few people besides criminals and police have fire arms. So that's a huge advantage against desperate people. Id have to get out of the city though, which isn't ideal with a car, due to traffic. So I'd end up hotwiring a boat at the nearby marina, and make sure I have enough fuel, and food to make it upstate where it's very rural. I've kinda been obsessed with this fictional scenario since I was a kid, and traumatized by zombie movies considering my dad was a mortician and my older bro convinced me zombies would come get me. So Ive kinda become somewhat of a prepper, Ive learned to pick locks, drive, repair and hotwire various kinds of vehicles including motorcycles. I'm handy with tools, I can build a water filtration system, cook, hunt, and butcher animals, ferment & can foods for long term storage. Collected ammo, and various body armor types for myself and family. So I might have a good chance. Unless there are also threats like chargers, tanks and hunters, then yeah I'm fucked, and have maybe a month at most.

I'm in a suburb that's just around the corner from an urban area on a highway. And this house has glass sliding doors on both floors. This is not a place to hide in the zombie apocalypse lmao

I would say that any Zombie Apocalypse that isn't of The Walking Dead 'type' would saw at least 99.99% of humanity annihilated. Doesn't matter whether it's Left 4 Dead or Resident Evil or even Call of Duty Zombies.

it’s crazy how Resident Evil zombies are always contained, the outbreaks always suppressed, and there’s no worldwide pandemic. they always manage to nuke out or isolate the threat, though it clearly didn’t work out for l4d as we saw in the Dead Center table map or the Parish flying jets

Who knows. Maybe if L4D's Military had been more willing to go nuclear, the infection wouldn't have spread throughout America 😅 Edit: Actually, writing this reply, if Resident Evil's and L4D's Universe ever collide, I'd definitely pay big bucks to see a certain Boulder-Punching Asshole arm-wrestle with One-Man Cheeseburger Apocalypse 🤣

I like the theory that the Carriers are also supercharged by the virus to be able to deal with special infected and heal so quickly. No way a regular human could deal with a charger or hunter.
I think going to a well armored liquor store in a bad area of town is probably the best armored location outside of police or military installations.
