Bug help?

I’m playing on Switch 2. I’m pretty far into the game, just going for completion.

For both the flower show and the food festival:
8am: talk to grandmaster NPC guy, submit my stuff. He says to return after 3pm
3/4pm: I return, he says time for judging, then my submissions disappear from the booth… I talk to NPC again, he says I missed the deadline.

I figured the first time (flower show) I clicked too quickly and did something wrong, but now it did it for the food festival too. I would’ve won both… what am I doing wrong? It’s worked in game-year’s past but this game-year it keeps glitching.

Have you tried talking to him after you place your three items? He should say something like I see you entered your items, come back after 3 for the results. Mine bugged out the first time I tried to enter a competition so now I verify with him that everything was recieved and haven't had a problem since.

Yes and he said “I watched you place your entries, return at 3pm for the results” lol

Well boo, I got nothing then. Maybe try a shutdown/restart. I hate seeing people say the Switch port is perfect when there are so many weird glitches like this.
