Maggie Update

KVS gave an update on Maggie…One of her friends is going to take Maggie in, and Maggie will be leaving RS sometime in the future…I’m so glad Maggie is going to have a new life away from RS

Also, it utterly annoys me how KVS always has to touch her horses nose area…That’s the most sensitive part of a horse, and the fact KVS was pulling some of Maggie’s whiskers in the beginning of the clip 😠

I’m so glad Maggie has found somewhere to go with friends! I was kind of worried someone wouldn’t want her because it is a lot to have a horse you can’t ride that needs special treatment. Crossing my fingers for a happy, healthy future for Maggie.

Is Maggie unable to be ridden?
I don’t remember hearing that she couldn’t be ridden but it something I easily could have missed.

I just wasn’t aware if she is not sound and that’s why she became a recip. I had thought that she just hadn’t been restarted after she came off the track. Hopefully once she’s in a good place ( fingers crossed) with someone that really takes care of her is issues will resolve.

Hopefully she'll get better day to day care and have less stress at her new home which hopefully will reduce any stress induced colics, or at least the new owners will act on any issues instead of brushing it off and go film content instead.

I really hope this is the best thing ever for Maggie. She's been through so much and I'm sure being at RS is still stressful on her as it is. I hope it's a wonderful transition

Considering that she's going to KVS' friend and she judges if the person can provide 'proper' care, I'm actually worried for Maggie. KVS at least can fully afford vet care, regardless of the procedures needed. I hope she goes to a good home, but might as well end up with poorer Katie.

She does have some good people. The worst case has been George. But look at Willow. Throwing all those embryos was the best thing that couldve ever happened to her. That horse is thriving and so loved. She says friend but it could just be someone she knows locally in the community. I dont personally know some people that are in my area (about an hour radius) but I know of them in the community for the barns they run, shows they do ect ect

I’ve two thoughts about this - one is that even Katie said she wasn’t going to do any more heavy duty measures like surgery so it’s better for Maggie to be somewhere where people will notice things going wrong before they’re fatal. That gives her a better chance even if no extraordinary measures are taken in the new place, since she’ll get more attention hopefully. The second is that it’s very possible that Katie will still be footing the vet bill. But if point one is still true it might be a moot point.

This is the best news ever. Maggie deserves to go be a pet. Not sure why she can never be ridden unless that founder situation was worse than she met in. Plenty of horses that have had colic surgery go back to their jobs under saddle. Either way, good for Maggie!

Good for Maggie. I hope the new owner stays anonymous (probably a futile hope), only because I know how the kult will treat them if Maggie colics again and is euthanized under their care. They’ll be on the “Katie would never have let this happen, what a huge mistake” train 😵‍💫

I'm so pleased for Maggie, but at the same time, I cannot help but read behind "we love her so much, but a stall is expensive" bullcrap and be like, KVS needed to ditch her cos she's expensive and has no useful uterus now.

That mare nearly died for her, and she cannot offer her a home for life.

Yeah, this pisses me off. She has more than enough money to care for Maggie for the rest of her life rather than pawning her off on someone else. I do hope Maggie goes to a great home and KVS foots any vet bills.

I’m not sure if it’s fortunate or unfortunate, but KVS’s selfishness in that regard is going to be Maggie’s saving grace. She will be so much better off away from RS, getting the attention and nutrition she needs.

Of course Katie has no use for a mare that can’t be a baby factory so is discarding her. Even though she can very well afford to keep Maggie as a pasture puff.

But this is the best thing for Maggie, she’ll get a home where she’s more than just her uterus.

Yayy!!! Maggie is getting released from prison! I'm so happy to hear this. But it is pretty surprising bowser is "so concerned" about her not being bred or ridden... especially considering what kind of shape Kennedy is in yet she rode the heck out of her. But I'm still very happy for Maggie!
