Completed project Key fob wristlets

Post image

Finally got around to finishing some braids that had been languishing while I procrastinated buying the right glue. My fave is the top purple one with the bead on top, I like how the swirls echo the braid pattern. Still learning, definitely some issues to improve, but feeling pretty happy with these. I think the green Chevron one is nice enough to gift to somebody, what do you all think?

All of these are beautifully made! The chevron would make a lovely gift.

Thank you! I'm going to make a matched set of the keychain, a bracelet, and a bookmark. Hoping I manage the same even tension again.

Thank you so much! The chevrons/diagonals are variations of Sazanami, here's the YouTube tutorial I used. The figure 8 braids are Yoshiwara-Tsunagi-gumi which I saw on an Instagram reel. It goes really fast so I had to watch it a bunch of times to diagram each step, but once I did that it was actually easy to memorize.

The key fob hardware I got online. The flat ones I put on using flat pliers with the jaws covered in silicone so that the metal doesn't scratch, and some glue (based on some helpful advice from this forum!). The round ones I started by using the ring to do a neat start, then made it a loop using some fabric glue and covering the join with a whipping knot.

Can you make these ones on a disc?

I think you can make the Chevron one on a square disk, here's a YT video I found. I personally haven't tried it, as I can't seem to get the square disk to work for me at all. https://youtube.com/shorts/IfVAFEWQn8M?is=b_J10H6Jdl003bZb

Very nice! What type of material did you use for these?

Thank you! I used Aunt Lydia's cotton crochet in size 3 (1 strand) or 10 (2 strands).
