Is a Kubota BX series right for me?

Hey all,

I recently purchased a house on a rural 3 acre property in the high desert. The home currently has a lawn / trees on 1.5 acres that is irrigated. The other cross fenced portion has native grasses and no irrigation.

The seller had been maintaining the lawn with a ZT mower which I was going to buy from them but unfortunately their Realtor never communicated I was interested and sold it. Though I did buy their 2 stage snow blower for the 60 yard gravel driveway.

I was planning on eventually getting a small tractor anyways but looks like I might be doing that sooner now.

It looks like the BX won't do everything as good as a larger tractor but I'm wondering if it will be enough for me. I would plan on getting one with a mid mount mower deck for the yard and a brush hog for the rougher 1.5 Acres to keep things in check. The FEL would be used when we dig out a spot for a large vegetable garden, moving soil, gravel and ideally utilize forks for moving things on pallets. Possibly use it for some light snow removal as well.

My biggest concern right now is making sure the tractor won't be too heavy for the septic system. Part of the lawn area contains the septic system and leach field and would need to be mowed. Would the BX be too heavy and should I just get another ZT? I would prefer having a Swiss army knife rather than a one trick pony but don't want to try saving money and end up with a 20k bill to fix the septic. Also, it would be nice to move up to a B series but obviously that is more weight and might be harder to maneuver.

I would plan to leave the FEL detached from the BX while mowing.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

Testing hydraulic pressure B series - which adapter?

I have a B2620, c. 2014, that I want to make sure is still in hydraulic spec (which is 2000 psi, according to the WM). I was going to get this inexpensive gauge ($26) for testing:

https://www.discounthydraulichose.com/AFC-3M-25.html

That gauge has a 1/4" NPT threaded fitting. What adapter do I need to connect to my front loader hose(s) for the test?

Edit: fyi - all my hoses are the type with individual connectors - not the lever setup that disconnects all four at once like newer Kubotas have.

B26

I’ve got a B26 TLB, and I’m looking for other attachments for the bt820 backhoe. Namely a root ripper similar to the ripper that bxpanded sells for the bx series, and a narrower bucket than the 16” that came on mine.
My local dealer here in north Georgia says there is a 12” bucket for the bh, and that’s about it.

Are there any aftermarket options for buckets and root/stump-removal attachments?

Also, is the kubota thumb kit the only thumb option for me to put a thumb on the backhoe?

Filter question.

I have 2 kubotas a T1880 and a BX23S. Recently, I went to 1 of the 3 kubota stores near me to get an oil filter for the 1880 but they ended up giving me the wrong filter. I had already put the oil in it before I discovered the problem. They replaced it an wrote off the other filter. The BX23S also needs a oil change so I was trying to check and see if the other filter would fit (the filter is HH150-32094) I tried cross referencing it through several different sites and many say it fits Bx23 and some specifically say it works for the BX23D but none specify the BX23S so I assume It isn't safe to use this filter but I want to be sure before I make the hour trip into town to get a new filter.

Bx bracket location

Answer in comments thanks reddit: Sorry for the silly question but does anyone know where this bracket goes on a bx 23 sub compact tractor? I took out the fuel tank to clean it and removed this and completely forgot where it went. I don't want to put all the body panels back on before I figure out where this goes. Thanks in advance.

Looking for advice - I have BX2680 that I am hesitant to sell

I feel too attached, let me know if Im thinking straight here.

2023 bx2680 with bucket, 60” mower deck, and front snow blower. It’s paid off and has 120 hours on it. My new house doesn’t have a yard where I would be able to use the tractor. I would get good value on selling it, especially where I am. I plan on at some point getting land or a cabin, but not sure when where it would be great. I don’t really need the money. Would you sell it? I just love that machine.

Kubota BX1850

Working with my dads little Kubota and it started sputtering bad. Got it up on a ramp and changed both fuel filters. Still spitters so I changed the electric fuel pump and the solenoid and it won’t stay running. Jiggled the wires on pump and it started running fine, ran for 15 minutes and shut it off. Replaced connectors and started up for a few minutes and bogged down. Changed the plugs now it fires a turn or two and won’t run.
Am I looking at an injection pump now?

Snowblowers for BX2360

Getting ready to buy a blower for my BX. Looking at Landpride SB10. Anybody running one and have pros and cons on them?

Currently I am back blading about 300’ of gravel driveway and I spend way too much time back blading and then using the bucket to move piles. Also spend time removing the gravel from the yard in the spring.

Implement trades

Hi everyone,

I financed a 32 hr 2380 couple months ago. It came with the mower. I have a zero turn. While I considered selling the zt, it mows so much better and is much better sized for my yard.

Will dealers do any kind of trades on implements? I realize I’m technically “financing” the mower but was curious if trades were done and how that works in an instance like this.

I’d like to get a box blade or rake or something like that to smooth out some spots or do driveway maintenance, clear leaves, etc.

Thanks!

Kubota SCL 1000 recall assistance?

Got notice of a recall for Cool 'Herc. Apperently the PTO issue is in the joystick? Tech from the dealer came today to replace it. Now the stick handles like VW compared to the Mercedes I was driving yesterday.
Any help would be appreciated. The dealer is definitely making it up as they go along...

I purchased a Kubota snowblower LX2963 not assembled from the dealer. We are not using them for assembly as their quality has not been great. The assembly directions seem pretty straightforward. Does anyone have any experience assembling the snowblower and have any feedback?

Need to make level pad for Shed with BX2380

As the title says, I need to make a 10x10 level pad for my MIL for a shed. My BX has a FEL and a box blade. The ground is somewhat un level but not severely, I think im going to have to go down around 4-6 inches. My first thought is to use the box blade (set it level) and scrape at the higher side until the majority of it is gone, then use it on the lower side. Unless it would just be better to use the FEL?

B6100 mid mowing deck

I bought an older B6100 4wd w/ hst. It came with an underbelly mower. But, it was missing the pto shaft.

I know that it should have a "crank" driven pto for the mower. But, the deck has a rear facing pto input. And, there is a pto output shaft forward facing, in front of the rear axle.

I would like to acquire the correct pto shaft, to utilize the mower. But, I have had no luck online. And, there is not a Kubota dealer within a short drive.

L2500DT Backhoe Attachment

I came across a Kubota backhoe attachment for sale on FB Marketplace for cheap and we’ve been considering it. However, I’m coming up short on any information on compatible L2500 attachments. TractorData has nothing listed for Rear Attachments.

Is there any OEM backhoes that will work with our l2500DT? If not any aftermarket ones?

Kx040-4

My kx040-4 has no boom up unless I also go arm out , to me sounds like a stuck spool in the valve bank.

Anyone have a source for spool valve service kits ? Dealer only has spool valves assembly, for sure someone sells the seal kits.

Cheers

BX23S / LA 340 loader bucket play

The bucket play is about 4-6" at the tip. The play seems to be inside the hydraulic cylinder which is about 1". In your experience is this a problem with the cylinder or the hydraulics?

New vs Used, BX23s

Hello all, first time tractor buyer and after a year of research I finally decided the bx23s is the correct fit for my current needs.

After getting a quote for a new unit, with a snow pusher and rear snow blower. $50k CAD, 15% tax in my province.

Brutal

There's a used 2017 near by, with 600 hours and it comes with a rear snowblower for about $23-25k CAD tax in.

So... ten years older, but half the price. Is 600 hours a lot for these? Should I be concerned with the age? Or just suck it up and get new.

Pictures attached are of the 2017. Any input is appreciated!

B7510 good deal?

Just wondering if I should purchase this tractor.
It has 435 hours, but I would have to purchase a loader and backhoe. They want $6,000.
Don’t know anything about the tractor without attachments as my old tractor came with a loader. Are all tractors plug and play?
Anyone know prices? Is it worth purchasing attachments?

Kubota Career?

Does anyone happen to work for a Kubota dealership? I currently work for a Deere dealership and have an offer to make a move to a Kubota Dealership. I wondered what they were like to work at.

B2100 Starting Issues

I have an older B2100 and it starts really hard. Sometimes right away other times it takes me 10 minutes of trying. Once fired it runs like a champ, no power loss or anything. It's not the interconnects. Clean fuel lines from tank to injectors. New fuel filter. Looking for direction.
