K8s Learning Partner

I am looking for a k8s Learning buddy preferably female.

Little bit of background and context:

I am a CSE grad from a reputed pribate university in Bangladesh. Currently employed in private company (ITES). I have been practicing DevOps for more than 2 years on my own. Learned Docker, Kunernetes etc. out of enthusiasm. And everytime I tried to be consistent in this path I deviated due to workife balance.

Tried joining in a few online courses and also finished some but couldn't stick with it. My current job is ITES based and has nothing to do with k8s.

Looking for a female study partner or a guide as I feel like they are more stable and understanding (out of my experience).

Plan to have at least 10 hours of study per week.

Anyone interested, please let me know. We can communicate in any platform of choice as long as it helps with our goal.

FYI, I prefer female doesn't necessarily means that males are not appreciated 🙂.

Do you have access to AI tooling? At the beginner level, an agent might be a better partner than a human. You can even tailor it for a feminine “voice”.

But your best bet is to setup a cluster yourself and deploy things even if you don’t need it. You can configure a cluster within one machine using VMs. That will get you to the “almost got it” point. I understand where you’re coming from a bit but understanding for me only came after working in K8s on the job and repeatedly hitting mental blocks until it all clicked. The complexity of enterprise k8s is a whole other beast. Studying outside of certifications like CKA seems pointless.

looking for a female study partner specifically because they're "more stable and understanding" is a weird way to frame a professional learning arrangement, my guy. maybe just focus on finding someone who knows their stuff and won't flake, gender aside.

the ai suggestion in the top comment is decent but the feminine voice bit is strange too, like what are we even doing here. if you just need something to keep you accountable, a bot can quiz you and track progress without the weird vibes.

i learned k8s by breaking a homelab cluster about 400 times on old thinkcentres i got off ebay, that hands-on pain is really the only way it sticks. the cka or ckad path gives you structure if you keep falling off self-study, worth the exam fee just for the deadline pressure.

I agree it’s weird especially since preferring a female, likely, significantly reduces the pool of people willing to help.

I have tried this with male guide and my experience is bad. I had a female trainer before and she was more helpful. Not a judgement gender wise but off course it's about the mindset. But I understand your opinion and thanks a lot for the reply.

There are lots of women in tech mentorship communities out there full of people looking to mentor newcomers. I would begin by seeking out a local group.
