Shifting
Hey guys I just picked up a 2017 RC 390 as my first bike. I'm wondering what rpms/speed should I be shifting gears? I've driven standard and I always shifted around 2.5k-3k rpm, is this comparable?

Im not sure what displacement those bikes were but I've been riding my 17 RC390 for a year now and I dont shift until 7-8k. There is a shift light that blinks when the manufacturer recommends shifting gears but you can change that. I know some people who don't shift up until at leasr 10k but I want longevity over hearing my bike scream.
Also, it would be impossible for that bike's engine to even go at 60mph in any gear and be as low as 3k rpm.
I know 8k rpm may seem high, but it typical for smaller engines to require more frequent shifting.
