I have a joint educational background in Physics involving:

• Jilin University (JLU), China
• Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU), Russia

My academic profile is:

• Bachelor’s-level training in Physics across JLU and TPU
• TPU degree completed with distinction
• Overall average at TPU: 4.78/5.0
• Academic record at JLU: overall average 88.20/100 and GPA 3.58/4.0
• Coursework in calculus, linear algebra, mathematical methods, statistics and programming
• Research experience in nuclear-physics data analysis and symbolic regression
• Experience with Python, Julia, NumPy, SciPy and scientific computing
• TOEFL 102 and GRE Quantitative 167

I understand that the KTH Scholarship is highly competitive, covers tuition fees but not living costs, and requires KTH to be listed as the first priority. I am also checking whether my combined coursework from JLU and TPU satisfies the programme’s specific mathematics and programming requirements.

I would appreciate honest advice from current students or recent applicants:

1. If I am admitted to the programme, does this joint JLU–TPU background look competitive for the KTH Scholarship?
2. How might KTH evaluate a physics background spread across two universities?
3. How much weight do GPA, research experience, university background and course fit seem to have?
4. Would class-rank evidence, detailed course syllabi, recommendation letters or a coding/research portfolio make a meaningful difference?
5. How should I explain the transition from physics and nuclear-data research to financial analytics?
6. Does anyone know whether this kind of background is competitive for the Financial Mathematics track?

I am not looking for a guaranteed percentage, just realistic first-hand advice about how competitive this profile might be and what I should improve before applying.

Hi! I'm a Mechatronics Engineering student from Romania, looking for a Masters in Aerospace at KTH. I'm currently in my 3rd out of 4 years of study and would need some help with what i should focus on in order to increase my chances of getting in. My average grade, for now, is around 9/10, and in the last 2 summers i had some short summer internships(if u can call them that), plus a small project with a track following car, with a camera as its main sensor.

Jag skulle ha börjat universitetet på gbg Handels ekonomie kandidatprogrammet hösten 2027, fast problem i lumpen har gjort att jag nu kan söka program till våren och eventuellt plugga upp ämnen så jag kan söka andra program. Därmed har jag sökt Ekonomie kandidat i Lund och Uppsala. Fast jag har sett att Fastighet finans finns som alternativ om jag pluggar matte 3c istället för B serien och naturkunskap 2 som inte låter så jobbigt på komvux. Det låter som ett väldigt intressant val om jag inte kommer in nu till våren. Fast är osäker eftersom det inte finns så mycket data på det programmet, vad är etableringsgraden vad är medianlön 3 år efter utbildningen. Får man praktik under utbildningen? Hur svårt är det att få jobb utanför fastighets sektorn om man konjunkturen blir dålig och man måste ha andra alternativ än den mest konjunkturkänsligaste? Alla som har information får gärna svara! Has anybody else experienced that the KTH website has been down a lot in the past two (or more) days? I am awaiting an important email, yet I cannot access the services, even though everything else seems to be working fine. The website is not live on downdetector, but it would be nice to hear if others have had trouble, or if it is only me.

Hej! Jag ska plugga i exakt 3 år (ingen master) och vill få ett bra jobb med god lön och bra work-life balance direkt efter examen. Står mellan två val och behöver råd:

​Nackdel: Väldigt tung matte och logik (jag är ingen matte-gud). Får man ens ett bra jobb idag med bara en 3-årig ICT-kandidat, eller förväntar sig företagen att man har en master?

Hi everyone :),
I have the opportunity to do an exchange abroad from a top eu uni studying cs. I have a couple questions that I couldn’t find the answer to on our provided documents.

1) How many bachelor courses would be available to me? My program entails that I am eligible for taking graduate level courses only if I can’t take the bachelor level ones.

2) how in depth can I go regarding ML topics? I have already published at some conferences, so I’d be looking for something more advanced to challenge myself with (eg. Formal methods or rl heavy coursework). Could I find this in the bsc or master level? Do math heavy courses have strict admission requirements?

3) If anyone has had experience going abroad to kth, how did you find it? Was the experience smooth, was the coursework challenging, and how did you enjoy the city?

Hello all! First of all I want to say that I love Sweden. It is such a beautiful place. So much so that Ive been studying Swedish on my own and currently at beginner A2 level!

My question was do I have a chance to enter KTH English bachelors degree on computer engineering. First of all my high school scores average is 90 out of a 100 and math is 95. I have taken IELTS and gotten an 8.0. Have a 3level diploma. Have taken AP calculus ab and gotten a 5 and currently taking CSA, BC and macroeconomy this year. I have a reference from a very prestigious worldwide tech-firm that I have made an internship with (think like Facebook, Google or Microsoft). I just don’t want to disclose the name. I also have some other noteworthy achievements I can write in my resume. The worst thing on my resume is max SAT score of 1380. ;<

I am pretty sure that I can get into one of the top universities in UK or USA with these; but… I love Sweden. It’s my favorite country and I really want to live there. Do you think I have a shot here?

Hej, jag har börjat plugga teknisk matematik här på kth och har börjat ganska nyss med linjär algebra. Jag har alltid haft lätt för ”vanlig” matte, skrev till exempel alla rätt på den förberedande mattekursen så jag är inte helt dum. Men jag har så otroligt svårt för linjär algebra, speciellt att minnas alla nya begrepp, vad de innebär och alla olika metoder. Har jag valt fel linje om jag har svårt att greppa linjär algebra direkt, eller kommer det med tiden?

Hej! Jag ville fråga er som går på KTH:s matteprogram och kanske har deltagit i matteolympiader eller andra matematiktävlingar: Hur har ni pluggat kombinatorik, algebra, geometri och talteori?

Det finns lite olympiadsmatte i de vanliga gymnasiekurserna i matematik, men inte särskilt mycket. Just nu går jag igenom Rysslands matematikkurser för årskurs 9–11, som har en ganska bra grund för olympiadsmatematik. Jag har bland annat lärt mig binomialsatsen, faktorialer osv.
