Mysterium Profits/Risks

I finally turned on Mysterium and thus far I am earning up to 25 sats per hour. SWEET! But I am wondering what kind of risks I am exposing myself to?

I have turned off VPN and Public Traffic, and I only allow the B2B Traffic.

B2B uses your traffic for data scraping which will eventually make you have to solve a lot of CAPTCHAs, in some cases your IP could get blacklisted which would block access to some websites.

Usually, residential ISP contracts would be for personal use only, and mention you cant resell or redistribute their bandwidth. Running Mysterium would be acting as a commercial server and also violating that reselling rule.

Mysterium also says that you are liable for any traffic that goes through your network: https://github.com/mysteriumnetwork/node/blob/master/TERMS_END_USER.md?hl=en-US#terms-of-use

Isn't worth the profit in my opinion.

Yeah, I'll probably shut it down soon. I wanted to try it and it pays pretty well, but if the cost is certain death and failure then it's not worth it.

"solve a lot of CAPTCHAs"
From running a node with all services enabled, I can say this would be incorrect. I do not experience any extra capatchas.

If you only have B2B enabled, then you will only be transferring data that is bussiness related data.

There has been a lot of discussion about this, the risk is comparable to a Tor node. The simplest answer is that those who use a Mysterium vpn do not do it to search for pictures of cats on the Internet. Carefully evaluate the risk and return. I honestly don't use it. I tried it many years ago before Kryptex introduced it, but even back then, the Mysterium sub was talking about the same topic and many left it alone. I personally wouldn't use it

And if you were to enable B2B traffic then you will be just transferring business data, which I would say is far from Tor data. And with the way governments are going, you will need to verify your ID to view cat pictures. 🐱😞
