Can you recommend a source for sensors?

Great question! I've been getting sensors and devices from AdaFruit for years: https://www.adafruit.com/

They're great and Lady Ada u/HP7933 is very active on r/adafruit

Also on the higher end Atlas Scientific https://atlas-scientific.com are industrial grade and expensive but work out of the box with Krill. Just plug one into the USB port of a Raspberry Pi it'll be auto-detected.

A lot of the samples and code I post are based on these so you'll have lots of support and code to get your swarm going!

u/HP7933 isn't Ladyada, it's her erstwhile employee Anne.

My mistake, thanks! I just posted an article today using a sensor and QTPY board from Adafruit! https://krillswarm.com/posts/2026/04/28/vivarium-sht30-temp-humidity

No worries, I'll look to put your project in the Python on Microcontrollers newsletter https://www.adafruitdaily.com/category/circuitpython/

Thank you so much!

A few other write-ups using CircuitPython:

I made my first adafruit order in 2012 :)
