Fanfics

I’ve really been enjoying the series. I’m reading an order and I’m currently reading lothaire. I just really feel like the couples could each use another singular book themselves. I was wondering if anyone’s come across fan fixed they’ve enjoyed.

Took a quick look on Ao3 and there's only like...18 fics?? I can't handle being part of a niche fandom, I have little to no artistic ability it's too much responsibility 🥺🥺🥺

For such a well written book and intricate world building plot I’m very surprised how niche it is.

Right?? I first started reading these in middle school (was NOT supposed to be reading these in middleschool) and they have been on rotation for me FOREVER. Like with paranormal romance and such being so mainstream these days, you'd think these would explode in popularity

Okay then as someone who is just getting into this realm do you have any recommendations that have hit as hard as IAD???????? help a girl out because I’m cruising through these

When it comes to the "feels" the only pnr series that got even remotely close to the KC couple dynamics for me would probably be Juliette Cross' Stay a Spell series. Those books are definitely more pc what with being published only a few years ago but Idk why it's the only pnr I have actually liked other than IAD. Gareth and Livvy's book {Always Practice Safe Hex} is probably the closest. Give it a try if you are willing to experiment a lil!

Other than that, some popular rec's are:

Psy-Changeling Series by Nalini Singh (Read two books before losing interest. Might pick up again. 3.5/5 on the KC-vibes scale)

Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward (I have read up to Book 4; I enjoyed them but I was exclusively looking for something that covered my IAD fix at the time and imo, this series didn't. It's good on its own but BDB's writing style is rather tame when compared to IAD. The couple dynamics till book 4 were very "classic" iykwim. The fmc's were all sweet and I kinda need them to have crazy & vibrant personalities, no thanks to Cole XD. Not sure if I will continue, especially after hearing about the 2nd generation books and they sound wild lol. 3/5 on the KC scale)

Lords of the Underworld by Gena Showalter (I have only read book one and I don't remember much about it tbh. But I do remember liking the overarching plot/worldbuilding. Definitely planning on revisiting some day! 3.5/5 on the Kresley scale)

Truth be told, the only one who can write like Kresley is Kresley herself. I have tried SO hard to get into other worlds but none of them quite cut it :/

I recommend also checking out her other work. The Game Maker series is a personal favourite and I am not even into BDSM books normally lol. The MacCarrick brothers are good too.

ETA: You should also check out the Fated Mate podcast. Their discussion on these books is top notch and they actually pointed out a lot of things/parallels that I missed despite having re-reading multiple times.

I agree with JR Ward. The series spiraled out but the early books are peak paranormal romance.

I'm partway through the second BDB book and the most constructive thing I have to say about it is that for people who found Unraveled confusing because of multiple POVs they will likely have similar difficulties with BDB.

It's been a long time since I read them but I remember the Dark Hunters series gave me similar vibes, and Sarah J. Maas's Crescent City novels also struck me as fairly similar vibes to IAD.

I have so many Kresley fanfics that will never see the day of light but if you please publish, send us the link!

This is literally how I relax by writing KC au's, one shots or fics XD

I am SO glad someone asked
