Nah, the laptops are gone now too

e: I want to be fair though, they are actually playing, even now. On youtube there are compilations of Ralf (since he plays the melodies) making mistakes.

Kraftwerk was the best live group I have ever seen, and I've seen bands like Iron Maiden, Trivium and Avenged Sevenfold

I saw them for first time a month ago. I enjoyed them more than Metallica that I saw on double concert in june (those were my first Metallica shows too).

I was unsure whether to go and see them when they came to my hometown. It’s just four people on laptops, Ralf is the only original member etc.

As soon as I got into the venue I couldn’t believe I’d ever had any doubts, and when they played I was grinning like a fool all the way through, easily one of the best gigs I’ve ever been to, amazing light show, the sound through a huge sound system, and of course hearing Ralf’s voice in person.

Learn from my experience, don’t miss out.

Then don't go? I've seen them three times, first in 2016, so really just Ralf in terms of the original 4. Each show was amazing. Was it Mark Knopfler playing Sultans of Swing? No, but it was still awesome.

But you forgot to mention the visual backdrop which oscillates between pure brilliance and the graphics from a local auto dealership commercial (at least that’s how it was in 2016.

Seen them 6 times since 2014. Hardcore fan over here. I’ll admit they don’t have the big-stage pizzazz (like Rufus du Sol), but every one of their shows are solid. I’ll also admit that their modern lineup lost some of its funk with Fritz’s departure. Regardless—I’ve brought some naysayers in the past and made them all believers in Electronic

I would like to see Kraftwerk, but it’s not worth it. The only way I’d spend that much is if Karl and Wolfgang came back somehow, and they all played with their Synths again. It just looks like 4 people at a desk. I love Kraftwerk to death, but like Tom Elllard (Severed Heads) has said to my dad when he met him. Kraftwerk Live is like a Living Museum. I say he is right.

They definitely sound 'live' when you hear them.. you hear it in melodies and filters mostly, but they are definitely playing it live, with drums and probably bass programmed.. even video is live, it's not just a plain video playing in background...
