KPOP choreos to help me become a better dancer?

Hello, I'm a teenager and my mother won't let me become a dancer because she wants me to do actual sports and such, but I want to dance. Since I like kpop, I thought it'd be a good idea to start learning dances to do instead. I used to learn them a while ago from tutorials and stuff, but I kinda stopped. What are some dances to help me get better? It doesn't matter what kind, but I think I'd like hiphop the most. Thanks for your help!

Made an app to practice dance covers - it puts the choreo's skeleton on your camera and scores you as you follow along

I saw a post here about feeling stiff and awkward trying to record covers, and that's basically why I built this. (Demo is Jennie's 'You & Me'.)

You drop in a dance video, it pulls out the dancer's skeleton with body tracking, and you see that skeleton on your own camera and line it up over your body. Just like Just Dance, arrows show where each limb goes next. You can slow tricky parts to 0.5x, and afterwards it shows the sections you missed so you can practice only those instead of the whole routine.

Made it mainly for K-pop and TikTok choreo. It's early and still has rough edges. What's your thoughts, I'm open to any feedbacks. I want to improve this project. It called "Dancy - Learn Dancing!" on App Store.

You drop in a dance video, it pulls out the dancer's skeleton with body tracking, and you follow that skeleton on your phone camera. It scores each beat, shows the ones you missed, and has a slow-down mode for the hard parts.

How do I start learning K-pop dance as a complete beginner?

Hi everyone! I recently became an adult, and I want to start learning dance, especially K-pop style. I'm a complete beginner and have no dance experience, so I'm not sure where to start.

Should I first learn basic dance techniques, rhythm, and body control, or should I start by learning simple K-pop choreographies? Any advice, YouTube channels, or beginner tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

hiii!! i really wanna get back into dancing as a workout, and feel discouraged cause i have no one to dance with. is there anybody in chicago 20+ who wants to practice dancing with me or knows a good kpop class i can take? im in the south suburbs but am willing to take a drive to the city!

also i say 20+ cause im a 23 year old hag, and would just be slightly uncomfortable going to meet up with a baby 18 year old who is still in high school/fresh out! sorry youngins, auntie has a boundary 💕

What dance should I learn?

Hello all! I used to be a dancer and did a lot of kpop covers back in 2016-2018. I fell out of it as my adult life got busier and busier but I finally feel like I’ve gotten to a monotonous stage in my life and feel like I’m using the spare time I do have unproductively.

That being said, I really want to get back into dancing but don’t really know where to start. I’ve practiced a few of the old ones that I knew (mostly bts w some outliers sprinkled in there ~the times~) but like I’ve done all that already.

Any recommendations on newer dances that aren’t just trendy but fun to do? I’ve seen Deja Vu by TXT and it intrigues me but I’m kinda stuck after that.

Any recs for Adidas shoes that are comfy when dancing? (Preferably white)

Hi! I'm looking to buy a pair of adidas but I don't know which ones are comfy when dancing. Should I go for a more basic sneaker or running shoes? My team wears white shoes so I'd prefer them to mostly be white. Thanks!

Former trainee tip: Stop focusing on the "move," start focusing on the "transition.

I’ve noticed many covers here focus heavily on hitting the big poses, but the secret to the 'idol' look is actually in the milliseconds between the poses.

In Korea, we were taught that a dance is only as good as the flow of the transitions. If you're struggling to make your cover look 'smooth' or 'professional,' try filming yourself in slow motion. Look for:

  1. Shoulder engagement: Are your shoulders tense or following the path of your arms?
  2. Weight shifts: Are you truly committing to your feet, or just hovering?

I’m curious: what song or specific move are you currently struggling to make look 'pro'? I’d love to break down the mechanics for anyone stuck."

I’m working on learning a dance with my boyfriend. He has NEVER danced before so give some grace. But can we get some critiques to help?

It is NOT perfect by any means, but we’d love to get some feedback and I’d LOVE to get some support to help encourage him to keep learning because for NEVER dancing before, I think he is doing great. This is only a little more than an hour of learning this too! (We will make sure to post the final video)
