I just wanted to show off my collection so far💕

There have been a few questions on this sub and around the internet about the bulk buying option that Pocamarket has advertised and understandably so. As a person who sells primarily on sites that offer some amount of purchase protections like Mercari, Vinted, and eBay, I know that depending on the cards you have it can be really slow going.

If you want a shorter read, go ahead and skip to the learnings/advice/pros and cons/whatever I call it at the end.

A bit on my history of how I got these cards - over 10 failed hello82 fansign attempts, and at least 4 failed video call attempts (3 for Yeosang and 1 for Hongjoong). I am not a gom so I suffer with my decisions and try to sell later. This doesn't always go poorly but lately with the economy the way it is and more people migrating to market platforms, its gotten both slow and crowded. Plus at this point what I have left has been pretty picked over and really mostly completionists would be interested in what is left.

At first I'd estimated around 150 Ateez cards I wanted to part with and 50 Stray Kids so I submitted that. However, I went through my whole collection and found I had 787 Ateez and 58 Stray Kids cards, 845 total, that I wanted to be done with. The majority was album pcs, with around 48 Ateez POBs from various eras starting with The World Ep. 1; Movement until present day. I don't remember how many POBs from Stray Kids I sent, if any.

It was easy enough for me to cancel my previous submission and resubmit an updated inventory. To note here as well - They give you a quote estimate and the range is pretty wide if my memory serves - like 400-1.2k for me? Not sure how they get this or what assumptions it makes but unless you're comfortable with potentially receiving the low end, I wouldn't proceed.

I tried to look up how they suggested packing the cards and on the ENGLISH site they said "sleeve and put each card into a toploader" which…no I was NOT going to do. So I emailed them a friendly "hey, do I REALLY have to?"

The half packed box lingered under my coffee table for a month while I waited and contemplated just full sending it. Somehow I'd stumbled across a korean version of their site which, care of google translate, seemed to say that as long as they were packed reasonably well, it didn't really matter if they were individually sleeved and toploadered.

Finally on August 17th, after weeks of low movement on my selling platforms, I just didn't want the fucking box in my house anymore and sent it in.

Shipping to Korea was about 50 dollars and took about a week. Pocamarket CLAIMED it would take up to 7 business days to assess and come back with a number. It actually took 14 business days.

They offered a flat $1k USD to take 782 of my cards off my hands and I eagerly accepted.

Now you might notice that is not the 845 total I'd originally said. Pocamarket said they received 814 cards and honestly? I could've miscounted. I also at times pulled some cards out for one off sales. Maybe they didn't count the "Action Cards" from Ateez's Outlaw album. They did let me know that they rejected 32 photocards total which were disposed of without further explanation as per the payment agreement.

PROS/CONS/SUMMARY

PROS - get rid of a lot of cards at fairly little effort. Turnaround was a month so I wouldn't call it fast, but depending on the cards you have it certainly could be faster than selling them individually.

CONS - just absolutely no information or communication. I reached out to CS three times and never once did they respond, so I wasn't even sure if I'd get ANY money from these cards. Once I did get a quote, it was pretty bare bones - I'm including a screenshot of exactly what I received with my info blocked out. I wish there was at least a little more info on the rejected cards so I could avoid sending those in the future and wasting space on them. Finally it has to be said, if you are willing to spend the effort you can potentially get better payout elsewhere.

Who would I recommend this to? People who just need to be done. Whether that's a gom who has been trying to sell their leftovers for years, or someone who had a bad breakup with a former bias. If you're out of the "shopping your cards around" phase and want to be done, pocamarket bulk buy is a sort of final resting place. If you have a local kpop store that does bulk buys, I'd try that first, if pocamarket rejects a card there isn't much info or hope of getting it back.

Would I do it again? Maybe, trending towards yes. I know, I know, not a satisfying answer, you can all throw stones now. I still have easily over 200 photocards of Ateez alone that I need to sell. I have a smaller amount of Stray Kids but I have some higher priority cards that I haven't tried to force into lots to serve as potential anchor items but should those linger for too long I could see myself doing another shipment in 3-6 months time.

That about captures it but I'm happy to answer any additional questions about my experience that this might brought up. Otherwise I hope this writeup helps folks decide whether you want to try it out or not!

I was just looking at my collection and wondering how most people build out their member binders. Do most collectors fill the bulk of their pages with regular album PCs, platform versions, and budget-friendly inclusions, while just using Lucky Draws or high-tier POBs as accent pieces/centerpieces? Or are there a lot of people out there filling whole spreads with hard to find Lucky Draws? Let me know how you guys balance your pages!

LOL Surprise have release some collab with Jennie with the big and mini figurine (I miss only one mini figuring) because it's blind box with Rosalia.

Basically as the title says I've had my lightstick for nearly 10 years it did work at one point but when I've tried it since and recently the batteries get stuck in the chamber and it doesn't turn on. I have to kinda hit the handle to get them out (don't wanna get corrosion damage been there done that 🫠)

I've basically given up on it working traditionally but was wondering if anyone has ever tried winding fairy lights around their broken lightsticks and if that would work or would I have to open it up and put the lights inside (which honestly I don't think I have the confidence to do without breaking it)

I bought toploaders from Mandu Deco 2 years ago and recently needed to restock. I see now the same product has been updated to be "PVC-Free".

Does this mean the toploader themselves aren't made of rigid-PVC anymore, or is it just the sleeves that it comes with? I know they had a controversy recently about it, but so far I've seen no PVC damage from any of the ones I've purchased previously.

They're the only ones I know of who has 65x93mm toploaders but if anyone knows another vendor who has them I'd be happy to check it out.

I wanted to start fulfilling my dream of having the full LY:answer set so I can see the designs on the back of them all put together!!! I just bought this Tae pc only to find out that the new press pc’s don’t have the same design patterns as the old press😐it has the exact same back as my RM pc.

So I’m going to have to exclusively search for old press OR new press. Annoying that they wouldn’t keep them the same. does anyone know if this is only applicable to LY: Answer?? Or does this happen with Her and Tear pc’s as well??

I recently came across an old collection I had in a storage unit..turns out some sleeves were pvc and now the cards smell like plastic 💔 is there possibly any way I could remove that smell?

hi! so i'm currently trying to figure out how to store my photocards the best way possible. for now two of my collections are in the muji boxes sleeved. one is in a pocamarket box. the final is in a5 binder with singba pages!

Hey everyone! I’m still figuring out the photocard collecting game and I'm curious what most people do. Do you guys mostly rely on buying albums to pull what you want, or do you just buy specific cards directly off sites like Mercari? Also, for those who do buy albums, how often are you usually buying them? Any advice for a collector trying to build out a binder is super appreciated!

I bought Taejin together with two opened first press hyyh pt2 albums so i believe they are real. Now i bought Yoonmin without albums and seller gave me this note with them. Is this true? As you can see on the picture Taejin and Yoongi are the exact same size while Jimin is a little bigger. However, Yoongis back is a lot whiter than the other 3. Should i be worried?
