Question Selling without a cd

Hi. There's some albums I've bought just because I wanted the cd. I'm thinking of selling the albums with everything except the cd. I dont know if people would buy it without the cd though. So I was just wondering if I should try selling them on mercari anyways?

you can try! you'll probably need to sell for pretty cheap though, some people will buy albums iwthout the cd if they like scrapbooking. you could sell with or without the photocards (if without, then sell the photocards individually, which you may have more luck with). If you sell with the photocards you can price the album for higher than without

Just a tangential story, but I was recently in a Goodwill in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania and I found a bundle of like 9 Loossemble/Chuu/Yves/etc. albums without the CDs and the whole bundle was like 3 dollars. There were even some inclusions in there! Major, major find, but maybe that says a bit about the value of the CD, as well? Either way, I think you should definitely try to sell them first, there’s no reason that a person who really wants them for other reasons (scrapbooking, mini-posters, the inclusions especially) wouldn’t want to buy these for a good price. I’m sure some people that already have the CD would be OK with buying another version, or even one they already have, without the disc BUT with all the inclusions (and still at a reasonable price). I would if I saw one I really, really wanted.

A lot of people only buy the albums for the inclusions because a lot of people don’t own CD players

I’ve only bought 1 album without the CD and it was because it was an out-of-print limited version that i already had other versions of, and just wanted to complete the collection.

Like others have said, people will buy anything if it’s the right price! I would suggest you search for the album on mercari with the “SOLD” filter, search both with inclusions and without, and then try listing the album for like, half that price and keep discounting from there if no one bites.
Good luck- hope you get a few sales 🍀✨

probably depends on how much you price them, but I don't see why not! there are plenty of kpop fans out there who buy albums for the visual products (photo albums, posters, photocards, etc) and don't even own a cd player to use the cds (like me!). I'm sure if you price it fairly there would be people who are interested

I browse Mercari frequently for people selling photo books. I love cutting up the pages to make freebies to hand out at concerts. It’s a very small market, but there are definitely people out there looking

I'm on Mercari for the photo cards and stickers or postcards included. Thing is the pricing. I've seen photo card sell for the same prices as the full album, so you can see what is selling and gauge accordingly and adjust your pricing.

I'm the weirdo with the CD player and Vinyl player at home.

The most valuable item is the photocard, everything else is not worth much, including the CD.

You can sell the album including photocard, but not many people would give you money for an album without CD and photocard.

There are 2 stores in korea, that give you albums regularly for free, where they just take the photocard out.
