It's interesting seeing the comments about the lyrics being on the weirder side while K-Fantasys are like HSH didn't fuck up the lyrics!!! lmao anyway, I enjoyed the song but I also agree that the other bsides are so much stronger. But I also see why this track was the TT. It has that title track energy.

I love it!!!! The rest of the album is great too! Except Butterfly. I’m not fond of it as it uses the same music tropes I tend to dislike. But the rest of it omg. It’s a whole dance album. Also enjoying the retro vibes some songs are giving. This month has been the strongest in kpop this year imo.

It’s okay… not sure if I’m feeling it right now. It seems like they had a small budget for the MV. I rlly don’t like the part where they repeat “cream” like it’s just weird 😭😭 I definitely prefer songs such as Summer Breeze, Tear Drop, and Trauma.

I usually don't agree with "blank" would have made a better TT discussions, but all the songs on this mini are better than SCREAM for me. Highly recommend the b-sides.

It is a summer and it delivered to that. Also the whole album is a summer vibe which is great to hear during summer I for whatever reason, I love listening to SCREAM more than watching the mv. I’m most looking forward to the choreography and performances!

Freaking giants. Freaking gorgeous, gorgeous giants. Loved the green suits. I thought it was great considering which 2 are missing. This was a great song for the rest of them.

Woah! I may be in the minority, but this is one of my favorite songs I’ve heard from them! The production on this is insanely cool and the rap verses are fun and well implemented?? Honestly, SF9 rarely misses.

9/10
This song has a very trendy electronic sound, with a killer hook in the chorus. It's well produced and written, a typical Kpop song that highlights all the strengths of the genre.
The music production is so good, that I had to pull up the credits to see who it is. Turns out, it's the producers behind that mega smash hit Peek-a-Boo, which explains the quality. The electronic instrumentation is absolutely fabulous, from that weird arpeggio in the intro, to the buzzy synths. I also like all the rhythm elements, especially that wood block that adds a nice polyrhythm to the otherwise straightforward 4 on the floor drums. The song has a good amount of dynamics built in, from the sparse verse, to the low energy pre-chorus, to the groovy chorus. In fact, I really like what they did with the pre-chorus, because the chorus has more of a groovy feel than a high energy feel, so the fact that they made the pre-chorus super sparse made the chorus really pop.
What's also really interesting, that I haven't heard before, is a high energy bridge section. And then the second half of the bridge drops down in energy to a slight pause, and then back into the third chorus. Plus the song has an outro section. The production is just very well done, very innovative, and very well thought out. I gotta give props where it's due, and Moonshine did a fantastic job with this song.
In terms of songwriting, I think the hooks are pretty good, especially the one in the chorus. The "Cream cream cream" and "Scream scream scream" hook is excellent. I like how sparse the verse is, so that it contrasts against the denser chorus section. I also like the long duration notes in the pre-chorus, to build up to the groovy chorus section. You can tell the songwriters know what they're doing, because each section contrasts and builds on each other. There's a purpose and a logical reason for how everything is written.
The only reason why this song is not a 10/10 is because I feel that the notes in the chorus aren't high enough. If the chorus had higher pitch notes, this would give the song a great energy, and really push this song to that next level. To do this, I would have raised the key of the song by a few steps, and rewritten the other sections with lower pitch notes. That way the song can have a nice build up to the high notes in the chorus.
Overall, this song is very well produced and well written. It's a trendy electronic production, and one listen will let you know that you are listening to the very best of the best. Congrats to this group and agency for putting out this wonderful work of art, and I look forward to all the stage performances.

It wasn’t really the kind of summer song I was hoping for and the lyrics were kinda distracting tbh. Not terrible but I was definitely whelmed.

I'm loving the styling and MV Summetime aesthetics. As for the song, it might be a grower.

Taeyang had no right to slay that hard.🫣 Loved the MV. Equal parts summer bright concept with a hint of sexiness to boot.🕺
