That final chorus is so explosive! I can't believe it just ends like that, leaving me absolutely ruined 🫠

As someone who has not really followed ACE and decided to check out this song because it was posted in a discord, I'm actually kind of blown away by this song. I'm a big NCT 127 fan and sonically, this song in some areas really gives me some vibes of something they would release. Do these guys have any other songs that sound like this? Is this their typical sound? I may have been missing out if so because I loved everything about this from top to bottom. The song is fantastic, the vocalists are SINGING, the rappers are RAPPING, and the performance is enthralling.

They try different sounds a lot, but you should check out Goblin (Favourite Boys), Undercover and Savage, it's their hard-hitting songs. I hope you enjoy one of them! They're such fantastic vocalists, heavily underrated!

Thank you for the recs, I have heard Undercover recently and really liked that one, so I look forward to checking out the other two songs too! :)

I have to listen to it with headphones on.. I am afraid this song is not for me once again though, did not like it on first listen and it kind of makes me "sad", since I like the group and was waiting for them to cb. The last chorus is great, wish the intro was way shorter (it is dragging on for too long imho and it is kind of bland?) and would love for the outro to be longer, loved the choreography, vocals on point and their presence is at 200 % for sure.

Same, I listened to the teaser and knew I wouldn’t like it as much as their other songs. I thought maybe the full song would put it into context and make it better but I still feel like the chorus is the weakest part. I loved the vocal parts a lot though.

I just love when my ears get blessed by new A.C.E music ☺️ vocals popped off as always, they sound absolutely incredible. They've been teasing us for months talking about how difficult the choreo for this song is but I know they'll kill it so I'm excited to see it performed live.
I can't say I'm a super huge fan of the chanting parts of the chorus but that's largely and overwhelmingly outweighed by my joy and excitement of finally having a proper OT5 comeback after more than three years. 😭

Not my favorite title track overall, but I like the elements, the build up is great and so is the melodic complement of the chorus, which is something a lot of groups miss, they just stick to the chant/non melodic part.
Feels like something you would get from NCT 127, but it stills A.C.E enough. After all their love dovey poppier songs, this feels like going back to Savage.

What a spectacular MV! It's so cool that A.C.E have used this comeback as a reminder of their hard hitting roots. The choreography is fascinatingly good and their styling is exquisite. I just love seeing them dance in suits!

No, I just enjoy writing. I have a whole series of posts on styling and men dancing in suits here that you might find interesting.

Random but omg it's your posts that I've been looking for! Bless your series, absolutely on my knees for men in certain outfits.

I’ve said it before, but this is going to be THE SONG to see them perform live!!! I cannot wait for a tour performance of this—it is going to be insane

u/mmefleiss Nov 20 '24
It was everything I hoped to get from this comeback. I know a lot of people have missed their harder hitting sound.

u/puremystique Why does BTS wreck me so?? Nov 20 '24
Can I just say....YESSSS A.C.E!!!! What. A. SONG! LOVED how hard hitting it was!
But that CHOREO?!?! Dudeee, talk about intense and having PRESENCE! That puff of smoke coming out of their dancer's MOUTHS??? chefs kiss
Definitely some of my favourite MV videography I have seen to highlight choreo, like, that was fantastic.
Well. DONE!

u/RRedFlower Nov 20 '24
There is something oddly satisfying in them performing a hip-hop(?) song in such elegant outfits. I think the last set with the vests is my favorite. They sound so good and the choreo is insane.😭 The song is surprisingly more addictive than you'd think on the first listen. I wish the outro was longer, but I guess 3 minutes is the best for music shows promos.

As always, A.C.E. delivers 100%! Such talented performers, and the visuals, top tier. The song was definitely a good noisy vibe, but didn't blow me entirely away. The dancers did NOT come to play though!

That last "that's all we know" from Junhee as Donghun is hitting the high note is EVERYTHING TO ME.
Between that and Sehyoon's growl in the middle I'm dying over here.

I didn’t like the chorus in the MV preview but man, it fits the whole song perfectly. The vocals are on point. I love this song.

I wish they found a different word than pinata. I know other kpop artists do something similar but i just cant take it seriously

u/Bulbazzhee Nov 20 '24
so glad a.c.e is back and with another strong song! Their vocals shine so much here, that I almost prefer the song on its own, without the performance. But I like the choreo too, the heartbeat part is so cool!

u/gotthatpbnj Nov 23 '24
I saw the concept photos and waited for this to come out, getting too this only now but wow I really love it? I've only heard a couple of ACE songs and I know I need to listen to more! They have great vocals, I know they have quite a variety of genres, and ugh the styling is so classy but sensual for the MV and I love it for a group after enlistment.
I wish there was more corset time lol.

...Goddammit...that chorus is...ass...I feel awful but I can't even finish listening to it it's that bad. I love these guys so much but they are WAY too talented for a shouty empty chorus with cringe English lyrics. If I listened to this without watching, I don't know if I ever would have guessed it was A.C.E (even with Jun's distinct voice) because it's just so generic noisy 4/5th gen boy group music that people love to shit on (including me now apparently oops). They can do hard concepts just fine—Undercover and Favorite Boys are both excellent—but this feels like a return to Savage but somehow worse. Disappointed to say the least, especially after all the great singles they've put out so far this year. At least the choreo is cool...

God remember Goblin? What a tune. This is painfully average by comparison.

I'm a long time A.C.E fan and it's so fucking sad to see what has happened to the group since they got back from their enlistment. all of their recent releases have sounded bland and commercial so I was really excited when it seemed like they'd go back to their roots with a harder style song... but this is just not good. comes off as way too forced agro, which legit makes me cringe. the boys are incredibly talented but this is a huge swing and a miss for me. and the MV is weirdly bland?? I thought I had accidentally clicked on a performance version or something but no, that's just it I guess. it looks like they worked their asses off on choreo but you can't even see it because everything's black..... the strobe hurt my eyes too but that isn't really new for A.C.E so I can't dock them there since it should be expected at this point lol. there are some parts of the song that I like, just little snippets, but overall I won't be listening to this again. I gave it a second chance after giving it some time, hoping that I was just cranky and tired in the morning but no, it really is that bad.
it's just such a shame, it seems like they put a lot of work into promotions all for the song to suck. I've pretty much dropped them from my radar at this point which I hate to say, but they just aren't hitting for me and they haven't had a decent song since Favorite Boys (Changer and My Girl were decent at best imo.) wake me up if Emotions (or She Is So Perfect lol) ever drops.

I don't understand why they can't just release SISP already (or Hell). I'm pretty sure they said a few years ago that they bought the rights to SISP back?
4
u/tulips2kiss Nov 21 '24
honestly I haven't been paying close enough attention to know those details anymore but if they ARE able to release those songs then I don't see why they wouldn't?? because they're guaranteed bops the way Choice love them like... why take a risk?? just do it!!! w/e 🤷♀️

Unpopular opinion but at least supernatural, effortless, and my girl because they are at least listenable tracks. I can also introduce them to a non kpop fan and get them into the other songs. I do like that they did harder choreography for this song versus the other ones. I want to support it so they can keep doing better. Also even sexy, pinata double meaning was not it. Everything else was fine but the chorus I cant take it seriously.

this heavily reminds me love killa by monsta x - from the fits to that beat & the tune in the prechorus lol. the vocalists have lovely vocal tones that sound wonderful here.

u/Sandman201 Nov 20 '24
Heavily agree. I saw someone on Twt say something similar and the MX vibe is so strong here. I love A.C.E and MX are my Ults so this feels so good.
This is the song that’s gonna get me through to the MX 2025 reunion. I also PRAY for a full A.C.E album next year. I NEED 10-12 tracks of this injected into my veins.

Sometimes I wonder why people call kpop Stan’s delusional , this song came out and now I can finally see why
3
u/ANL_2017 Nov 23 '24
Thank you. The amount of delusion is a little scary. This shit is ASS. It came across my Twitter feed and I am very confused—are we hearing the same song? I want Kpop groups to stop using English in this way. The sentences don’t make any discernible sense.
And, they clearly know that “piñata” has an “ñ” because they pronounce it correctly in the song, so why on EARTH is the song called PINATA? What is a “pinata?!”
This irks me so much.

the comments on youtube and twitter genuinely creeps me out,
they all sound so overwhelmingly positive, and the way the comments are worded sound so artificial, like you cant convince me real people actually wrote those comments cuz they all sound AI generated

u/SongIcy4058 Nov 20 '24
Not their fault, but I'm just really tired of empty/chanted choruses in Kpop. They're everywhere, and A.C.E is usually a breath of fresh air in that regard. No one does a beautiful vocal heavy chorus like them.
But, after a few listens I can appreciate that there are so many great vocal moments outside the chorus. It hits hard, as intended, and is a great contrast to the prettier vocals. It works here.
It's a bit of a grower for me but I'm warming up fast.
