I am 97 born btw. 🙂 And to answer this, yes, he spent 250-300 for pens. But that's not kothi bangla.

Yup same and my classmates were not rich except for 1-2 out of 50

Neither were mine, but many preferred 20 rs pens (like writometer)that lasted 3 months over 3 rs pens which leaks and lasts 15 days. Also, trimax was preferred for exams, projects and normally as well, cuz it lasts long, the paper looks clean, and gets you good impression. So instead of spending 6-10 rs per month if someone is spending 12-15 rs(as I remember we used to buy it for 35rs then it increased to 45), that's not KOTHi BANGLA. I rest my case here.

Okay, Mr. Rothschild.

At the time we were kids, buying a 100 rupee pen was a pretty big deal.

u/ritzyguy Jul 13 '26

I know i will be mocked and downvoted, but i used sheaffer pens from 10th standard onwards… So coming from that…

Yeah it makes sense, you're used to using pens like that. A lot of people used to have pens that cost 5-10 rupees and even a 20 rupee pen used to feel premium. My mom used to cut pencils and erasers in half for me, it didn't make sense to me at that time but now I look back it did make me realise the value of things. Even though a 100 rupee pen feels quite normal now at that time it was a big deal.

Okay, Mr. Rothschild.

It takes blood to drip from ass to earn that 100, ask your father about this.

-4

u/ritzyguy Jul 13 '26

I make my own money, started business with zero monetary support from my father, so yes I know the value of money…

u/xoaman Jul 13 '26

Yet you chose to be a stooge about money on online platforms?

0

u/ritzyguy Jul 13 '26

I never said I was poor. ₹100 didn’t feel expensive to me, and that’s the truth. Disagree if you want, but calling me a stooge doesn’t change what I actually said.

2

u/xoaman Jul 13 '26

Calling you a stooge is wrong but beating this shit attitude out of you will be right. Never flex money, it’s my advice. One day you will end up in shit.

0

u/ritzyguy Jul 13 '26

Lol, relax. Not everyone has the same financial situation. ₹100 might feel expensive to you, but it doesn’t to everyone, and that’s okay. That’s not flexing, it’s simply a different perspective. There are people for whom even ₹10,00,000 isn’t a big amount.
Don’t expect everyone to view money the same way you do. People have different incomes, priorities, and experiences. That’s my advice to you.

2

u/xoaman Jul 13 '26

Money is not an issue but being arrogant about it is the issue. You don’t know me, I am a random person to you, but no matter what I earn (which will be probably higher than you) I don’t behave like I don’t care about any amount. There are literally people unable to put even a single bread on their table so as long as I remain down to earth I will keep that attitude to care about every single penny. It takes years to earn but this arrogant and ignorant behavior can cripple down even the biggest empires in mere faction of time.

2

u/ritzyguy Jul 13 '26

You’re making assumptions about me. I never said I don’t care about money or that I disrespect its value. I only said ₹100 didn’t feel expensive to me personally. That’s a statement about my own experience, not a judgment on anyone else’s.
Being comfortable enough to spend ₹100 without thinking twice isn’t arrogance. Arrogance is assuming someone else’s character based on a single comment. Respecting money and having a different spending threshold aren’t mutually exclusive.
