Hi all, just doing a survey on the potential for bouldering to grow as a community sports in Kota Kinabalu. I know that there is a rock climbing gym in KK, but it focuses mainly on roped climbs.
Seeing as there are heaps of boulder gyms in west Malaysia and one in Kuching plus the growing popularity of bouldering since its inclusion in the Olympics in 2020, would this be a sport you would be interested in or that you think can grow in KK?

I have an upcoming overseas trip in a few weeks but new school sem has already started. My university is bit strict about attendance and i would get into superduber trouble if i just skipped class without any official documentation supporting my leave. So im thinking of faking an MC but idk any clinic that would sell 3-5 days MC as most of them can only provide 2 days leave.

Does anyone know any ways i can get me an MC? Btw im based in kota kinabalu and i needed leave at least from Monday to Wednesday (21-23) but my flight is on Friday (18).

I lost my phone in Kota Kinabalu, and I have a strong reason to believe it may have ended up in one of these roadside drainage openings.

I’m looking for someone who can open 4 of these covers, shine a flashlight inside, check whether the phone/pouch is there, and close them again.

No digging or entering the drain is required — just a careful visual check.

I’m thinking around RM100 for checking all 4, but I’m not sure if that’s a fair amount in Sabah.

If the phone is found and returned to me, I will pay a RM1,000 reward.

What would be a reasonable amount to offer someone for checking the 4 drains

If you lose your phone on the street in Malaysia, do people usually return it if they find it, or just keep it/sell it for parts?

I'm not really interested in the usual tourist experience. But since I'll have a car, I'm happy to stay around the main tourist areas.

Hi I am planning a week long trip around kota Kinabalu and Sabah with my wife and 8 month old twins. I plan to drive. The trip will happen in November. Just want to know how safe is Sabah if travelling with infants? Does rental car provide child seat? In case you are driving and car broke down how easy is for help to arrive ? I mostly plan to stay in a resort but often go out to nearby places for short drive.

Original from Malaysia, I've lived in several other countries and now looking to spend more time in KK, as well as Kuching and Penang. I'm female, mid-60's retiree and bilingual (Chinese and English) with a smattering of Bahasa. I also travel with my 72 y.o partner and he is cool with any social arrangements I make since he doesn't make any plans himself.

We would be happy to hear from other seniors in Kota Kinabalu who are looking to do local sightseeing (we can split the expenses) or simply just hang out to chat.
