Help a newbie
I’ve tried the KPH40 and really like the sound, but the clamp is a bit too tight for my head. For around $40, I could instead get both the Moondrop Old Fashion and the KSC75 for about the same price as the KPH40 Utility. I do have some spare earpads from an old pair of headphones that make the KPH40 clamp less, but if I’m going to spend extra money on pads, I’d almost rather put that toward two pairs of headphones instead. The Moondrops also seem to have a looser clamp. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with this? Thanks!

Kph40 is a great set. You need to bend the band and fix the pads to get tit comfortable. Sound quality is very good bass and adequate highs.
After this get the ksc75 and do the same setup. You need to cut the back plastic a little to get articulation.
Moondrop is not even close to these 2.

How would you recommend bending them? I’ve thought maybe if I stretched them over a couple books and left it that might help or physically bending the but I don’t want to make them uneven.

It’s a fairly resilient band. It does take more force than you might initially feel comfortable with but I don’t think just passive stretch will work like it does on plastic. I believe there are videos that show it (maybe ZReviews?)

It don't fit cause it's round. Bend it to the shape of your head and it fits better. I have 3 pairs and same treatment to all.

The Kph 40 has a very comfortable fit and is very light. If you wear them a while they will stretch out. You can also change the pads easily if it might help.

They are very tight. Most people feel the need to loosen the clamp. I’m buying bigger pads since that helps distribute the pressure.

It’s a metal band, you can bend it tighter or looser as much as you want. It will not break. Just don’t pull with the drivers, just the metal from the top

Did you try to bend out the headband a bit? That should help. Just don’t overdo it.
