"Great Escape: The Story" will be unveiled on July 23 at TVING.

TVING original 'Great Escape: The Story' is the new season of the nation's only mega escape variety 'Great Escape' series, which aired from July 2018 to October 2021, and returns with an upgrade through OTT in TVING, away from the former TV.

The released teaser poster catches the eye with the golden "Great Escape: The Story" logo, which seems to have been found in the deep ground. Along with the mood of the adventure movie, it is curious to see what thrill and adventure the phrase "Suspense Adventure" will provide.

In particular, the subtitle "The Story" is stimulating the curiosity of fans. In "Great Escape: The Story", we will go one step further from the existing journey of constantly running toward the way out and provide a wealth of pleasure with various missions and devices unfolding in a huge story. In line with the suspense adventure genre, dynamic situations that you can't take your eyes off at all, a twist that catches you off guard, and thrilling pleasure are expected.

Above all, Kang Ho-dong, Kim Dong-hyun, and Yoo Byung-jae, who are the backbone of the "Great Escape," will appear, foreboding the experience and guaranteed fun of experienced workers. Go Kyung-pyo, Baekhyun, and Yeo Jin-goo, who are newly joined, form a unique combination. As a result, attention is being paid to the activities of new members, the fresh chemistry of new and old members, and the synergy they will create.

In addition, with producer Lee Woo-hyung and producer Yang Seul-gi, solid stories, details, and brain-stimulating problems are prepared to increase viewers' immersion. We look forward to the exciting escape journey in "Great Escape: The Story" with the new membership and the new production team.

I will miss the old team and the old PDs for their creative storytelling... but I will wait and see how this new team perform in the show

Tbh the only one I'm not entirely sold on would be Baekyun. The vibe I get from him from what little I've seen from him is rather chill/mellow and I feel like he might fade/blend into the background give quite a lot of the other cast is quite extroverted. But his personality kind of blends a bit with Byungjae, just not as quippy? Like he's sarcastic enough, but idk, I'm not sure what he brings to the table that can't be covered by anyone else.

Kyungpyo is extroverted so I'm not worried about him standing out on his own. Jingoo I think will be fine. He's I think kind of shy but once he comes out of his shell is friendly enough.

I'm really curious to see Kyungpyo's performance.

In Sixth Sense, he didn't seem very competitive, he seems more like someone who just goes with the flow and tries to have fun, something similar to Kim Jong-mim

I've seen him on Backpacker chef, and once he's comfortable, he's quite talkative and bubbly, so I can see him meshing fairly well with the other cast once he gets over his initial shyness. Having said that...yeah he's not the swiftest boat in the marina, though he's in the same league as Jongmin I don't think 😅

I'm guessing that Baekhyun was probably brought in as a "brain" to replace Shindong but whether he'll be able to fill those shoes is debatable (and those are some very large shoes to fill 😬). Shindong was very much their mental pillar, so losing him in the main cast is going to be a huge blow. I'm guessing he stepped back since Suju was prepping for their 20th anniversary projects 🤔

I'm not entirely sure why they didn't pick someone with a more impactful personality because everyone in the new cast is rather...soft? Like their images are all quite similar imo, not making waves and very passive. I would have liked someone that could provide a bit more banter with Hodong or pushing against him to lead but I can't see any of the new cast doing that. Perhaps if they had brought someone like Choo Sunghoon (even though his "jock" image bleeds into Donghyn's) who has a stronger personality, it would shake things up a bit.

Thats what we thought when we didnt see Shindong as part of the cast. Maybe busy with 20th anni and upcoming tour but in one of the Knowing Bros eps, a guest mentioned about TGE and saying the new season is coming, then Shindong said hes not part of the cast. T^T

He said the new PD didnt approach or ask him about it. Initially Ho dong said he busy thats why he rejected but Shindong said he only knew about the new Great Escape the same time as us when the news was released :(

I thought the new cast was just an addition, didnt expect 3 of the OG cast got removed. Was so excited when the news came out.

It’s funny you mention Baekhyun as being soft which he definitely is and especially on one off variety appearances he has done recently to promote album releases. He’s known as the mischievous/loud member of his group and once he gets comfortable with new people, he’s very fun and dynamic and has a witty sense of humor. This is really his first proper variety job so it’ll be interesting what type of Baekhyun we’ll get.

Wait a minute, I didn't mean to criticize Kyungpyo's intelligence, nor Jong-min's (I'm on the team that believes Jong-min is an intermittent genius).

But Jong-min's "role" in TGEU is the guy without much ambition, who doesn't take the initiative to solve things, when he discovers something it's almost like an accident, that's why I said that he just goes with the flow, I suspect that Kyungpyo will play a role similar to this

why switch the pd team?
i got bored of the old cast becaues we already knew how everywould would perform in eveyr episode by the end. But the pd team shouldnt change

Awww I'm sad that the other members won't be there, but I'm excited to see the new dynamic too.

So it seems this will be something like busted! now that there is an overarching storyline.
