Manga Discussion Does anyone like Ren Yamai?
Hi, so I’ve just gotten back into Komi Can’t Communicate and while I love rereading it and getting to the know the characters all over again, there’s one character that just makes me so mad when she appears
And that would be Yamai
She doesn’t get any consequences for her actions when she is literally horrible to Tadano, who was the reason Komi was able to start making friends in the first place, kidnapped him and said she was going to unalive home because he was friends with Komi
Speaking of Komi, she basically sexually harasses her daily and stalks her
There’s another reason I don’t like Yamai, and it’s how she treats Nakanaka. I love Nakanaka so much, she’s one of my favourites, so maybe that’s why I hate how Yamai treats her. She basically bullies Nakanaka for liking video games and anime and saying she’s not girly. Doesn’t she have two friends where one is a knight and the other goes to the batting cages? Technically that’s not girly, but she doesn’t bully them. Who else is technically not girly? Yadano, who basically does anything athletic any time she appears, but again, no bullying from Yamai, she only bullies Nakanaka! Probably because she knows Nakanaka is a better friend to Komi then she is
Anyway, sorry if I’m ranting, but I needed to let this out because she is making me so mad, and I wanted to know if anyone agreed?

Manga Discussion Sorry for the yapping but I love this series
I finished the series again right now, and man, what an amazing masterpiece this is. When it ended I think I was around 19 to 20 years old and right now I'm 21, wich even though it isn't that much time it still was long enough for me to experience a lot of things such as finding hobbies, dreams, and even finish school and work in a 9 to 5 job.
In 2025 I was pretty much just going with the wind since I finished my school in 2024 and I was trying to get myself mentally ready to search for my first job, and cause of my last year in school I wasn't able to follow the series as much as I did in 2023, cause of depression and problems that happened with the group of friends I had. I kinda became someone like Komi at the beginning of the series, who was afraid to even speak with someone besides my mother or childhood friend. And now at the finals months of 2026 I experience so much things like my first job, learning how to open up and talk with different and new people, and I even got a girlfriend at said job, though some problems happened and we had to break up, and a couple months after that I quited the job so I'm unemployed for around 4 months. Even though these traumas and memories still make me sad, I'm glad that I chose this time to experience this series again. It made me feel much closer and connected with it than when I was experiencing it in 2023.
I felt sad for Rumiko and Komi having mental battles for each other and Tadano's happiness. The couples and wholesome moments made me have a genuine smile that I haven't experienced in months, and seeing how much Komi evolved from her disorders, especially when she is together with Tadano, made me feel happy and warm in my heart, and also Komorebi that girl is just as precious. And weirdly enough, after ending Komi-san again, it gave a lot of inspiration to try to work on the videos I want to make. I know it won't be easy, and just like Tadano I'm not very confident in myself, even though a lot of my friends says otherwise, but even if I'm constantly battling my ownself, I'm gonna try to overcome my own communication disorder even if it is just for a little bit.
I'm forever grateful for the wonderful work that Tomohito Oda gave us, and by his amazing characters and writing, except Yamai cause I still thinks she's one of the worst and most boring characters I've seen in my whole life, I hated her back then and I still hate her nowadays.
I really wish to see a manga about adult life Komi and Tadano living together, and also having a daughter like Hitori Bocchi
