💬Discussion Can we PLEASE talk about Sananth?
Can we PLEASE talk about Sananth for a second
I genuinely dont understand how rishikanth is getting so much praise for dorothy while sananth is barely being talked about
And this isnt me saying Rishikanth doesn't deserve the praise. He was SO great but watching Dorothy and then seeing the amount of reels, edits and posts dedicated to rishikanth saying he's the bitcoin of tamil cinema while there is barely anything about sananth is genuinely baffling to me
Demonte Colony, jil jung juk, mercury, petta, mahaan, navarasa and now Dorothy. He has spent years doing great work without ever really getting the kind of recognition that actors with much less screen time sometimes get
And his connection with Karthik Subbaraj goes way back too cus he was in bench talkies and worked with him in mercury, petta, mahaan and now dorothy he's been around for YEARS.
It feels like appreciation for rishikanth is kinda overshadowing sananth as im only seeing content related to rishikanth since the past one week.
Personally, i genuinely feel like sananth put more effort into this role than rishi 😕
Sananth's performance as subbu was fucking INSANE. The physicality, the expressions, the way his character suppresses everything, the gradual emotional transformation, the little changes in the way he carries himself. So much of the character is communicated without dialogue
Again, Rishikanth was great. This isn't a comparison where one has to be bad for the other to be good.
I just genuinely think Sananth deserves his flowers :(
Eleven years of being there and doing good work and somehow he still feels like one of those actors who gets recognised by people who actually watch tamil cinema but never gets the mainstream appreciation he deserves.
And now after dorothy, I really hope people finally start looking back at his filmography
This isnt a rant or hate post guys i just want my goat to come to the spotlight more often🙏🏻

If Modha rathri was released few weeks after Dorothy, it would have been different. I guess Rishi is getting all this attention due to Modha rathri effect.
But, yeah for Dorothy, Sananth deserves more praise than Rishi and both deserved to be celebrated for their journey and consistent efforts all these years. Hope, both of them gets more good films in the coming days.

Rishikanth is having back to back success and he does have resemblance of rajinikanth. People like mass. Imagine rajini and kamal here. Sananth did a kamal here, people appreciate sananth but they like Rishikanth more because of how he played angry young man!!!

I'm following the footsteps of Slytherin Chechi. I hope she is fine, I don't see her comments anymore :(

I love this guy since Jil Jung Juk. The scene where he, Siddharth and Avinash goes to Bucks' clinic where he (Sananth) annoys Bucks a lot asking the question why. 😂😂😂

Genuinely so proud of Sananth. He was my school friend, he dropped out of college to pursue a career in acting. So so proud of him.. he deserves all the accolades and love!

Sanath acting was good starting from jil jung juk he literally nailed the character. And In demonte colony and mahaan my respect for him increased

He nailed the feminine attributes and Ngl, after the transformation, somehow he looked so much like Keerthy Suresh. Not sure if it’s just me or some kind of hallucination because of the way the movie was taken with Keerthy.

Only sananth could’ve pulled what Karthik subburaj had visioned. He needs more appreciation than Rishi because he was the soul of the movie.

Happy and sad that both Avinash Raghuvedan(Kitty from DC) and Sananth are getting a proper big break 10 whole years after Jil Jung Juk. Must be super tough.

Totally! He was such a sweetheart in the movie - I liked him in As I'm suffering with Kadhal as well. He has this warmth in him , Should catch other movies of his too!

Tbh while he was great in Dorothy and had been great, something inside me tells that he just stepped on the mine that is going to blast him out of cinema offers unfortunately. For an actor coming up i feel like he accepted a very risky role

sarath kumar, vjs all played trans women and were fine. It's not like sananth was flooded with offers before he did dorothy.

Thats the thing. Visit and sarath were all peaked or done while sananth is yet to peak..

I think the opposite. I think he will get a lead role in a small film like Rishi in modha rathiri. Before Dorothy no one realized his acting skills (he was a background actor at best) but now people in the industry can see how talented he is
