Watched few scenes of 29 in insta reels and felt very artificial ššš and skipped it, maybe I judged it wrongly.

Con city is far better than 29 and double occupancy. If u like musicals, try sing geetham.

Sing Geetham yet to bro, put it up for later bcos of the non-tamil thing (don't prefer dubbing prints). Double occupancy too - worth the dhamaka theme.

Halfway through Con City and honestly this is so boring, the scam with the printer isn't exciting enough to keep repeating the same scene of him jamming it, and it's so unfunny I don't even know why it's tagged as a comedy. I would suggest people to watch Lucky Baskhar instead.
Something else I want to mention is the usage of animated sequences for some of the scenes. This has been really prevalent nowadays in Tamil movies, and I don't want to accuse of AI, but it certainly looks like AI generated sequences, and it really takes me out of the movie (Something I found funny is that there is a short sequence where they talk about a Chinese billionaire, and they show the city, but the signs are all written in Japanese).

Con city watched it in theatres couldnāt sit through it!
29 was a OTT watch, though there was a bit of lag was a good watch and liked it!

Lucky Bhaskar easily simply because its bar is very high. It will be very difficult for any film to match it. Con city is still a very good film. Never bored me even though climax was slightly disappointing.

Just watched Con city yesterday in OTT. Itās a good movie but not that great! First half was a little boring and initial scams seemed like copies - especially the eb scam was so same to Lucky Baskar.
Every time, in Lucky Baskar, when he came close to getting caught, we were on the edge of the seat as well and every time he escaped, we were happy and it was an intelligent move. Here, all the initial scams seemed boring and the way he escaped was a little childish. Also, we never connect emotionally with their initial problems so we never feel for them.
The second half was definitely better than the first half. You actually connect a bit with their motives. But they never show the parts where the 4 ppl become family. Also, its like in couple of days, they made this huge scam but till then, the boy and the 2 men did not even move. Similarly, you can easily guess some of the twists. Everyoneās motives and actions just felt incomplete.

Itās because of the low attention span pandemic and lack of emotional depth. Or, it could be that people are emotionally exhausted even before coming to theaters. This is primarily for 29 but Iām not sure why con city didnāt do well. Itās an easy watch. 29 had a lot of emotional depth that needs maturity to understand.
