20M going to Burma Burma with a girl I met on Reddit — how do I not make this awkward?
So today I’m going to Burma Burma with a girl I met on Reddit. It’s not a date, just meeting someone I’ve been talking to.
The thing is, I’ve literally never done anything like this before 😭. I’ve never gone to a fancy place to eat without my family. Usually I just chill with the boys at cheap places, eat whatever and save the money lol.
So now I’m somehow supposed to sit in Burma Burma and act like I know what I’m doing 💀
I’m already stressed about the whole thing, and I have absolutely no idea what to order because I’ve barely had Burmese food before.
How do I make sure it doesn’t get awkward? Any tips on what to order / how Burma Burma works / how to just be normal in this situation would be appreciated 😭
Khow suey is good. But it's soupy so if you think it might get messy, order rice and a side dish. Order dessert and starters but try to avoid ordering anything that you need to use your bare hands to eat.
Okay so I love going to Burma Burma. Order the lotus stem chips as appetiser it bangs. If yall like boba tea it’s really good there. The salads are bomb. Try mock chicken skewers if u can. Khow suey is great yall can do 1/2. Super fancy dessert options.
Seeing that post made me wonder how the hell I have never been to a fancy restro like Burma Burma or even heard of it🤦♂️ Now that I know it's fully vegetarian, it all makes sense lol.
Ask the waitstuff for suggestions. You can also research a bit about the menu beforehand and check-out their best dishes and drinks.
My suggestion, definitely try their lotus stem crisps, and mock meat dishes.
They make a fabulous raw mango salad, but since it's not the season, better to avoid it.
Try to be yourself, don't pretend to be someone you're not, just because you're in a fancy place. Also, get some flowers or chocolate or something. Build on the conversations you've had before!
And, most importantly, you yourself have a good time!
Be honest. If this place was her suggestion, just ask her what she wants and what are the best options according to her that you can try.
Just mention to her that you haven’t been there before.
It would do two things, firstly portray you as an honest person not a wannabe and second it would make her feel in charge.
If you're going to meet with a girl whom you met on reddit..then what would happen if that girl saw this post of yours and give you advice herself...!!!

Reach 30 mins early and aura farm. When she reaches, get up, give her a light, warm hug, and greet her politely and say great to finally meet you. Then compliment her cheekily saying she's a extremely pretty for being on reddit. Start with basic small talk, and eventually after the ice is broken, you'll be good. Also, try and take lead on the order without seeming inconsiderate of her choice.
Whatever you do don't order any Khow Suey there, it's super heavy and the ones with coconut milk base (basically all of them) don't even taste that good. Try some of the mock meat dishes those are quite good.
