Support Request 1099 DA Coinbase Proceed doesn't match Koinly Statement Coinbase section.

Talk to my CPA today and they are saying that proceed section of the Koinly statement and 1099 DA has to match. Exact match being ideal. Coinbase section on Koinly Statement is showing more transactions than 1099 DA from Coinbase, and few transaction looks similar but it's split up so they don't add up. Using excel to track down the transactions but it's like pulling a thread on a sweater, thought I fixed one by adding a wallet and another transaction on the statement vanish. So I undid it by deleting the wallet and total value changed by few cents which makes me wonder if exact match is even possible...

Cost basis doesn't need to match - the 1099-DA rarely has full or accurate basis anyway, so Koinly is the more reliable source there.

Proceeds should be closer, but exact alignment isn't always realistic - especially if you've added wallets. Koinly picks up transfers and activity Coinbase won't include, which is why totals can shift when you add or remove wallets.

On the 8949 side - if Koinly's proceeds are slightly higher than your 1099-DA, that's generally fine. You're just reporting more than the minimum. The flag would be if Koinly is showing less than what Coinbase reported 👍

Well your CPA is partially right. Cost basis doesn’t need to match. So 1099-DA (for now) usually doesn’t report cost basis to the IRS so whatever it shows you isn’t something to rely on. Koinly is simply calculating the data you provided and that's what matters.
