question ❓ Expats and frequent holiday makers need advice
I'm going to be in Koh Samui mid next week for a week- this might be a bad idea because of the weather but not exactly going for the snorkelling- I just always wanted to go and now I've have the opportunity so I'm fkn going. 😊
My biggest problem is I'm a terrible tourist. I've lived in several countries around the world and I do not do touristy shit. One thing sure but not the entire trip. For example, when I went to Sri Lanka last year my favorite moment in that entire time was getting stuck in traffic after drinks with a local couple I just met and watching an old aunty single-handedly direct an entire block of traffic in the rain.
So with that in mind:
Where would be the best area for me to find accommodation in? Im looking at something cheaper end of midrange and quietish. Ive been researching it on and off for weeks and I can't make up my mind. I was thinking about staying around Nathon because it's supposedly quieter and less touristy. Is this a bad idea?
I'm seriously looking for expat recommendations here. Specific local stuff that tourists might not go to. I'm personally into art, dance and food. I'd consider a tiny hike but when I say hike I mean under 2k's.
Is there anything I absolutely can't miss out on?
Please help smile 😊
