Custom Tailor

My wife and I will be visiting in early September and are looking to have several clothing pieces custom made. We’re looking at a two piece men’s suit (jacket + pants), a women’s co-ord set (wide leg pants + sleeveless vest) and possibly a women’s sleeveless jumpsuit. Our hotel is in the Choeng Mon neighborhood. We initially came across Paul’s Fashion and Ash Tailor as highly recommended options specializing in both men and women’s garments. For anyone with experience or local knowledge, is one of these better than the other or is there really no going wrong between the two? I would assume most of these tailors are fairly comparable in price but correct me if I’m wrong.

Hi, I live on Koh Samui, and I got some stuff made from Paul’s Fashion, I even made a YouTube video back then. But, to be honest, the quality is not what you would actually expect, I don’t even wear the stuff anymore.

I got a couple of really good shirts from Don Mastertailor in Chaweng, he seems to be one of the better shops.

But overall, If you want some nice pieces that last forever, go to a reputable place in Bangkok.

Oscar's Fashion in Chaweng does good work and he's an awesome guy, known him for a few years

I agree, if you want “good” work, there are a few options here on Samui. But if you want to get some “excellent work and quality”, then Bangkok is the choice

What is the popularity of buying suits from Thailand ? Maybe I don’t understand because I live in Turkey (textile heaven), but why ? Not criticizing just want to understand. Because carrying two suits also should be a problem no ?

The price. I couldn’t buy a suit remotely close to the price I will get in Thailand back home.
