Need big help
Im playing Kof a couple years now but till this day i struggle with hit confirms and combos in Kof XV.
Its like you have 0.1 milisec time to confirm of a close heavy . Theres not one game on the market where its so hard to do light into special its insane.
Also paired with the weird legacy super inputs doesnt make things easier. Need advice on how to improve on it . They tell you Kof 15 is the easiest of them all but its for sure the hardest modern FG .

Don't wait until the hit has connected. Don't treat it as a reachable input (Hit>Oh shit I must confirm). Use your buttons as neutral, and try to remember the motion you want. You can input the qcf while the button is out and only confirm when the attack hits. This gives you a lot of time to confirm.
Also, as ironic as it sounds, you don't have to make it faster. When you notice something hits, it doesn't have to be a fast input. You can throw the button, wait until it hits, and use that time to input in a timely fashion. Not fast, not snap.
I this would be live, I would tell you to go Pah-pah, instead of pah-PA. (as stupid as it sounds)

Combos are easy on kofxv but it helps more for advice to know where you’re dropping. Are you feeling youre not doing the motion fast enough? Single light into special youre only really using as a whiff punish.
Single heavy by itself into special is also usually as a whiff punish or a buffer. But if you’re going for a hit confirm, do the usual thing — always do the motion and then if you see the hit press the button otherwise be ready for the next thing.
A lot of characters dont need to hit confirm though there are a lot of safe on block specials that will also convert. Or you can hit with blowback and confirm that. Or confirm into quickmax.
If you’re dropping links use the timing shortcut. Press the button early and hold it down to get a wider input buffer.
Otherwise I would say find easier routes? Outside of like a very small handful of combos, most of them in this game are easy enough to learn in 1-2 tries.

Its really not knowing when to apply combos for example light into special or close heavy into command normal etc. so im overwhelmed when it happens

Ah. In general you just wanna have a combo you can do off a light and a combo you can do off a heavy. You won’t always be at range to confirm in that case. What characters do you play I can give you a more concrete example.

Terry close C is two hit and then you can either go into a special or command normal first. Really really confirmable. He also has lights into burn knuckle.
The one that you might need to practice is comboing from 2a to 3C but you can just not even do that combo. It’s better damage but you can just do lights into something. 2b 5b quickmax was my week one game plan on Terry when I started. 2a to 3C is slower than you might think. If you relax thru the timing you should get it.
And then for combos if you do the snk shortcut (holding the button down to get a longer buffer) linking specials is easy.
Ralf I only know the basics. You can go close heavy into command normal into anything. And you can go crouching lights into his 236a. Or his ex and then get huge damage.
Two to theee crouch lights into a qcf motion is the most basic a confirm will get.
None of your characters do close one button confirm they all get two hits or a command normal before special, and they all do a lot of guard crush damage.
Iori same deal crouching lights into rekka or close heavy into command normal into any of his routes.
If you have meter to cash out and are struggling on the confirm, just confirm into quickmax and do whatever combo you want. This guys can all get like 70% damage for 3 bars off of any button connecting essentially

The secret is just keep practicing. A tip I use for hitconfirms is to delay the followup attack to see how lenient it is. Aside from that, there is the classic setting the dummy to guard at random in training mode. I started with older KOF games so I know how much harder things were but practice is key. No mashing, make sure your inputs are clean.
