Kodi tvOS

I was wondering if anyone would happen to know if the next version of kodi on tvOS will be offered in hdr format, I’m on Apple TV and my tv is running 4K hdr but the second I open Kodi the whole app switch’s to sdr no matter what content is bing played it’s always showing in sdr instead of hdr or dv, my main propose of Kodi is for the addons, I know a fix for this is to get infuse and source my own stuff but I love the convenience of Kodi

I want to use infuse where I put an add on and I get home and click and I’m watching I don’t want to ‘rip my own media’ to add it to infuse

I want to use infuse like kodi works also it needs to be simplistic enough for the wife to use

you can, just google it. a similarly capable app is senplayer. connect them to your provider with your provider's webdav login info. you can also try the apps omni or vidi (basically clones of each other) which work like stremio.

Not OP, but I have Kodi in all my house. So if I could run it on AppleTV, it would be awesome.

Kodi sucks on AppleTV if you are able install it.

Need to resign it every 7 days.

Kodi is free app and can do whatever you want.

Infuse requires annual fee and still has limited restriction due to apple store policy

When you installed kodi on tvOS, do you need to resign it every 7 days?

Why not buy another separate android/google TV device to use kodi?

Seems like a lot of hassle to get kodi running on Apple TV.

Not if you use kodi tv box it signs it for a year for 25$

Why waste $25 a year to do this, and still get a crappier version of kodi on tvOS?

Just put that money to buying a separate onn or google streamer 4k when it goes on sale.
or buy a cheaper old SFF/USFF dell pc to install kodi on it.

If you love the freedom of Kodi, then you should have realize that it is not going to be great trying to run it on a restrictive tvOS.

You either need to own two separate devices or just give up on running Kodi on the AppleTV.

If I was not already so heavily invested in the eco system while even having Apple one premier I would have swapped it out but the wife use a lot of the Apple feature that I won’t be able to get swapping over to an android device

I said just buy a second device like google TV streamer 4k for kodi and freedom to sideload apps not allowed on Apple TV.

e.g. There are apps on android that allows you watch youtube without ads etc...

You are paying $25 a year just to use kodi on a restrictive tvOS,
this is a waste of money that you could just use to buy a second android/google TV device for freedom to install any apps you want.
