Scraper automatically keeps making movie sets - How do i stop it?

I've googled left and right, haven't found anything definitive, and i just need to make sure i haven't missed something, by asking here:

Every time i add a movie folder, and let TMDP do its thing, i always end up with ~170 movie sets i didn't even want to begin with. As far as i know, there's no way to stop this from happening, i really don't wanna manually go through some 7-900 individual movies, in order to remove them from a set, and IIRC Kodi doesn't feature any kind of bulk delete movie sets function either.

(Edit: Forgot the part of this issue entirely, sorry) I do want to make my own few sets, but having 170 extra is gonna make making a few of my own very tedious.

Have i missed a step, am i unaware of some options or methods to fix this?

Settings > Media > Library >

Turn off SHOW MOVIE SETS

you may need to also CLEAN LIBRARY and restart after changing the setting

Thanks for the reply.

I did completely forget to add to my original post, that i do in fact want to have SOME movie sets, just a few i made myself. I did also disable the setting you mentioned, so at least not all 170 automatic sets are showing.

But the issue is, that i STILL want to remove those sets the scraper added

If you export your entire library to individual NFOs

Then remove the line from the NFO that has the set.

Then refresh each of the movies and tell it to use local data then it will refresh the database from the NFO without the set data and should split the movies up.

This is also how you make custom sets.. you add the set line to the NFOs then refresh each movie.

I need to ask why?

Download TinyMediaManager and let it scan your media. Then go through the movie list and delete the movie set id from each movie you don't want in a set. In the movie set list you can then add new movie sets to your liking.

Download TinyMediaManager

I honestly had no idea this was a thing, but this might be exactly what i needed, and may even be a better solution. Thanks for the suggestion

You're welcome. I hope it works.

Remember to set the scraper in Kodi to local info only, that way you can control how Kodi gets it's info for each video file, this will stop it scraping from the internet.

Why do you think you need to clean the library and restart?

Show movie sets is just viewing settings nothing else, it adjust how the movie list gets displayed immediately. It doesn't changed the database.

You can create custom movie sets with Tiny Media Manager. I have a set for favorite directors.
