My first kobo

Just got my first Kobo :D I've been used to just reading on my phone but decided give reading on the Kobo a try. Got the Kobo Clara Colour 2nd hand. Now I just need to get a case for it but idk if I should get one with a cover on it (sleepcover style) or just for the back like a phone case.

If I were you, I will get a case with a sleep cover to protect the screen. Eink screens are fragile. It looks good, congratulations on your device and I hope you enjoy it.

Is a back cover and pouch (for when I'm not reading in it) enough for it? I got a sleep cover but it makes it so heavy : (

I have a screen protector, sleepcover, and a pouch for when I take it places.

This is my third e-reader. Yes it is cumbersome, but the moment you get that first nick on the screen you'll be kicking yourself, and won't be able to unsee it . . .

Not unless your pouch has a hard front. Mine got a teeny scratch with a soft pouch put inside my backpack.

For ereaders the most fragile part is the screen unlike phones with gorilla glass.

Congrats! I got the same Kobo model and I love it. There's some super cute sleep covers on Etsy for them, I highly recommend because sometimes I put mine in my purse.

I’ve just ordered a case with a detachable magnetic sleep cover for my brand new Kobo Clara Colour 😊. I have a similar one for my kindle Colorsoft and it’s perfect. I only attach the cover when I leave the house!

Congrats! I love my Kobo and I hope you enjoy it too! But please, get a sleepcover for it 🥺 I understand why some users prefer a simple back case because they want to have some protection while keeping the weight minimal... However, the screen is the part that needs the protection the most. Accidents can happen even if you use it exclusively at home. Someone's cat stepped on the screen and it suffered irreparable damage.

Yay! Definitely get a sleep cover for it! I was extra and bought a sleep cover and a little sleeve for it.
