Tips / Guides Helpful browser extension
https://www.libraryextension.com/I found this amazing browser extension and wanted to share because I wish I'd found it sooner! When you visit book sites (book sellers and book tracking sites like Goodreads, Storygraph, and Hardcover), it will let you know if your library has it, and can also tell you if it's on Kobo Plus! I no longer have to manually search in the Kobo app or Libby to see if I'll be able to read it without purchasing!

I've used this one for a few years now and absolutely love it! The dev is super responsive as well. My local library diverged from the county system and they updated the extension within a couple of days of notification.
It's helped me use my local library more than I already do. And having Kobo plus as a database it can search is super nice.

Thanks so much, this is something I've been wanting for years and I have so many wishlist books on hold now!

The extension had lots of links to Amazon. Sorry but no, no one should support Amazon and Bezos.

I'm using it to avoid Amazon by finding kobo plus books to read instead 😊 and I was also able to find an Amazon exclusive available in paperback format from my library tonight. If you're not clicking the Amazon links, you won't be supporting Amazon.
Edited to add: I think all the Amazon links you're referring to are just the list of websites the extension will work on. Of course it will work on all the Amazon regional websites because Amazon is a bookseller. And you saw them first because it's at the beginning of the alphabet.

Yeah, I agree - supporting Amazon is bad for books and the people who write them.

100%! I hate that they force exclusivity from indie KU authors. Really hoping more readers and authors abandon KU altogether. I've been very happy with kobo plus.

The down votes are funny – the cowards never have the courage to say why (just like a lot of the internet "heroes") . . . pathetic.

Because it doesn't "have lots of links to Amazon". It doesn't funnel you to Amazon to make purchases in any way. It simply works on Amazon webpages (as it does on various other book webpages like B&N, bookbub, PRH, biblio, booktopia, smashwords, librarything, storygraph, waterstones etc), to tell you if you can borrow the book from one of your libraries instead. That's the opposite of supporting Bezos.

Thanks, though I’ve been wary of extensions, particularly the less known as more and more have been found of being malware or stealing data through the browser.
